Relaxed and refreshed as everything suited our family well plus the chickens and sheep!
We liked the layout of the cottage, the equipment available, the provision of breakfast ingredients on arrival, the chickens and sheep in the grounds, the location and the friendly hosts.
We had a lovely stay at The Dairy at High House. The owner lives in the adjacent house and was very welcoming and helpful. There was everything we needed for a good breakfast and the cupboards were well stocked with various condiments. All the rooms are beautifully appointed and the beds were comfortable. We would definitely like to stay again 😊
Fabulous hosts and property, everything provided you could think of plus a beautiful tree and tasteful decorations to make our Christmas stay complete. Have already recommended it!
We were delighted to be in this house and felt immediately at home. Everything was neatly prepared for our arrival. The host was so attentive and friendly, we enjoyed every day we were there. Thank you very much.

A fantastic stay at the Dairy at High House
The cottage was very well situated for outings to Wells, Lyme Regis and various National Trust houses and gardens. Tintinhull itself was quiet and charming. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a TV in all the bedrooms. Lisa was a very attentive hostess who provided great attention to detail. We thought it was be of the best properties we’ve stayed in.
Super property, perfect for our group of 5 adults. Comfortable and spacious accommodation. Well equipped. The location was ideal with lots to see and do in the area, convenient for Somerset, Dorset etc. Lisa the host couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Amazing welcome pack provided. Highly recommended!
The Dairy House was perfect for our family group of three generations gathered for a wedding locally. Lovely location with the chickens and sheep a delight for our little granddaughter. Nice touch to provide breakfast ingredients. Bedroom and bathroom layout suited us well. Kitchen and dining area provided all we needed. A relaxing and enjoyable time had by all.
Lisa was very welcoming and showed us around the property. Lots of provisions were left for our use. Also bacon, sausages, mushrooms etc were left for our use. You really dont have to shop before you arrive.
Very pleasant surroundings and the village has a National Trust property which adds to the historic aspect of Tintinhull. Would love to return again.

Great little barn. Best weekend retreat we have found.
We went down to Yeovil to visit our older children and because there are 5 of us (2x adults and 3x children) we struggle to find a hotel to accommodate us in one room. We found a brand new home rental that I stumbled upon on google. From booking to leaving everything was perfect.
We arrived earlier than the check in time, but this wasn’t a problem. We were greeted with an amazing welcome pack.
The barn was absolutely perfect, clean and comfortable.

Response from VrboOwner on 25 July 2023
Hi Tony, We hope you'll come again soon. The wifi is now full strength and the guests have a new picnic table.
We couldn't have found a better place. All the comforts of home plus Lisa, the owner lives next door. She would bring us fresh eggs from the hens and had the place packed with food for our arrival breakfast. There is gravel, grass, and a field to hike all right out the front door. Plenty of place for children to run around, plus stocked with games, tv's, washer, dish washer and conduction stove. Very upgraded. Accessible to many sites and villages. A jewel!
Built as a farmhouse in 1926, High House was attached to a much older building, an 18th century dairy, which remained in use until the 1960s, when it was refashioned as a garage to house an increasing number of motor cars. In the 1980s new owners wanted more space for their growing family so the garage was incorporated into the house providing a children's sitting-room, pantry, larder and laundry, with hayloft above and extra bedrooms.
Lisa and Fred, who arrived in 2015, were keen to recapture the essence of the barn it once was, revealing ham stone pillars and old elm beams that lay beneath late 20th century modernity, adding windows and doors and a few 21st century comforts. Today the old pantry forms the kitchen of The Dairy, the laundry became a downstairs bedroom, whilst a staircase leads up to the old loft, now the master bedroom.
Although farmland and outbuildings were sold for redevelopment many years ago, and today the owners have full-time jobs, a hint of rural lifestyle lingers; sheep graze the field and hens roam freely in the garden. At dawn the cockerel might be just too far away to wake you.
