About this property
The East Wing at Old Hall Country Breaks
The East Wing is part of the stunning Grade II Listed West Norfolk thatched 16th Century residence, Old Hall. The East Wing is tastefully furnished in a grand style and has lots of special touches that will make you smile. The East Wing has two bedrooms (or three on request), a huge open fireplace with a large log burner is perfect for those cosy nights in and the well-appointed kitchenette has all you need for your stay. The East Wing accommodation provides a luxurious open-plan sitting room and kitchenette, Jack and Jill bathroom with enormous Jacuzzi bath (plenty of space for two), a master bedroom with super-king size bed and a delightful second double bedroom which can be configured as either a twin or a double bedroom. The rooms have either a view of the beautiful front garden or the peaceful vista of the huge back garden and view of the paddock at the bottom of the garden.
There are books in all the rooms if you feel like sitting in the window seat to read, or maybe take your breakfast outside at the table and chairs or the hammocks in the back garden? A TV and DVD player (select your DVDs from our extensive DVD collection) are provided as well as cable TV and Netflix.
Old Hall was built in 1553 (for the curious, at that time Edward VI was King – he was the son of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour and Old Hall was once home to lady-in-waiting to Lady Jane Grey – queen for 9 days). Set in six acres, Old Hall is grade 2 listed and an enchanting Tudor property.
The Old Hall offers two separate and self-contained holiday accommodations: The Coach House and the East Wing both provide separate, self-catering accommodations.
Old Hall is a property of immense character and charm: the thatched roof, a walled garden, lots of pretty corners in the beautiful garden in which to sit, or lie in the hammocks and relax, the stables, the gardens for your children or dog to play in, the quiet and privacy.
Inside, Old Hall is beautifully furnished in a grand style but is also very comfortable. Farrow and Ball paint has been used throughout to ensure a soft finish to the house. The East Wing has a large inglenook fireplace with a generous log burner, and a jacuzzi bath big enough for two. The Coach House is tastefully furnished and overlooks the horses' paddock.
Amenities include indoor and outdoor games, bicycles, home entertainment including cable TV and Netflix.
Our guests can experience a range of additional touches: private dining is available with a professional chef, afternoon tea served either in the garden or the drawing room, deluxe hampers for your stay.

About the host
Hosted by Host

Old Hall is a Tudor manor house, built in 1553 and its character reflects its great age. The walls are thick, the beams are even older than the house (they came from sailing ships) and the place oozes charm and history.
Gil and Philip are very thoughtful hosts who give exceptional time and attention to their home and to meeting the needs of their guests. From sourcing and booking restaurants and trips, planning beach huts, picnics or afternoon tea for guests, or setting up games in the garden. Nothing is too much trouble for your hosts.
We like to ensure that our guests fully participate (if they want to) in the Old Hall experience by giving treats to the donkeys, collecting eggs from the hens, cycling (bikes provided) round the quiet country lanes or lazing in a hammock listening to the donkeys munch away at their pasture.
