About this property

Romantic peaceful getaway in the Fife countryside

Come stay in our historic schoolhouse cottage in the heart of Fife. Fully equipped self catering cottage with kitchen, two bathrooms, open plan bedroom (balcony style) and log burning fire. Double sofa bed for the kids! This is a beautiful, one of a kind property that is over 300 years old. It was the teacher’s cottage which has been remodeled when the schoolhouse adjacent to the property was decommissioned in 1953 and features an open plan design. The property is an excellent getaway for people looking for a quiet place that is close to all the great tourist attractions and restaurants. Located on the Fife Kingdom cycle route and has many off road walking and cycling routes in the doorstep as well as good access and short drives to local attractions. Flat screen tv with Netflix hooked up. Alex speaker. Free WiFi on the property. Private garden. Free parking in shared driveway which is situated next to the old schoolhouse. Both houses are in their own lot with a walled garden. Beautiful unique wood decor, peaceful and quiet with countryside walks and biking opportunities on your doorstep. Closely located to Edinburgh, the East Neuk and St Andrews. We can’t wait to welcome you!

Comfortable cottage in lovely Fife.
Spent a splendid week in the Old Schoolhouse in September 2023, a quiet, comfortable, well equipped cottage in the centre of Fife giving easy access to all that wonderful county has to offer. Lesley and Bill were excellent hosts and we always knew we didn't have far to go for help or advice. We visited the coast, Dundee, St Andrews and even a managed a windy game of mini-golf! The walking around and near Burnturk is splendid for a couple of oldies and we were lucky with the weather when we pulled the boots on. We ate well - The Dory Bistro at Pitenweem and the Inn at Pitlessie. Woulkd recommend the Pillars of Hercules farmshop and cafe. We hope to return.
