About the host
Hosted by Jules Verne, your friendly host at Villa Cascata
At Villa Cascata we love Portugal, and of course the beautiful Algarve. We fell in love with Portugal because of the romantic, traditional, proud and with ‘family at their heart’ people of Portugal.
There is a simplicity here and a pace of life that feels like something from our childhood.
Then there is heritage of Portugal, culture, and traditions and Lusitano horses. I could not go on, without stating, the amazing sandy beaches, incredible sunsets, coastline and golden cliffs. Food, of course, the wine, romance, and it’s easy to get to, and a super safe place for family breaks…
If you have not been, Portugal is located west of Spain on the Iberian Peninsula. The climate is pleasant all year round, with more sunshine than California.
We love Portugal which is why we bought our holiday home here.
Prices are about the same as Spain, slightly cheaper. The locals are super friendly; the food is a delight for your soul, our experience of Portugal is nothing but positive, and we highly recommend a family holiday or a break for couples, you won’t regret it. Then there is…
Port wine, sure you can drink port wine outside Portugal, but it's not quite the same as drinking it where it’s produced! Try a Pastel de Nata, delicious for breakfast. And it goes without saying, a food heaven for fish lovers.
With colonial architecture, a must visit is Sintra, on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Then there is world famous Portuguese tiles, you can find them as decorations on house walls and buildings across the country.
Simply affordable, Portugal is an inexpensive country where you get much value for your money. The general standard of living is very good. Eating out at a local restaurant is cheap, and something that both locals and tourists often do without breaking the bank.
The Portuguese people we’ve met, have all been happy, friendly, helpful with a lovely easy-going attitude towards life, give the language a try, but most people speak English fantastically well!

Why they chose this property
We have a great location; only 30 minutes from Faro airport, and lucky to have the best of all worlds. Villa Cascata is ideally placed between Vilamoura, Albufeira, the beaches of Olhos de Agua, Santa Eulalia and close to the 'golden triangle' of Almancil, Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo.
We are one of 17 villas situated in a private gated and secure condominium, of Cascata Village - It is very quiet and peaceful, where serenity reigns.
Whether it's sun worshipping on one of the Algarve's golden blue flag beaches, going to a nature reserve at Ria Formosa, hiking at Monchique, cycling, visiting heritage sites or bird watching, there's literally something for everyone.
If you have forgotten anything, there is shopping at the Mars designer outlet and Albufeira shopping.
For lunch times relax, unwind and watch the world go by eating 'sardinhas' around Vilamorua or Albufeira marina. Enjoy an amazing value for money meal at local fish eateries or Peri Peri Chicken restaurants or experience fine dining at one of the many Michelin restaurants.
We haven't mentioned the golf yet (90 courses in Portugal), some of the best literally on our door step. There's racing at The Algarve International Circuit, commonly referred to as Portimão Circuit, or 'go-karting' for the youngsters at Almancil. For horse lovers, there is International equestrian facilities at Vilamoura, and a local horse riding school two minutes from Villa Cascata.
There's plenty of area attractions and activities for the children, with 3 waterparks; Slide & Splash, Aqualand, and Aqua show as well as Zoo Marine and Lagos Zoo all make for great days out. We have plenty of watersports; surfing, paddle boarding, and kayaking. Try dolphin watching or take a boat trip to the Benagil caves. On our doorstep we also have Cliff Richards vineyard for wine tasting or something for the men a spot of Big Game fishing at Olhao, there's literally not enough room in this box to tell you why you should come to Villa Cascata!

What makes this property unique
Built in 2020, Villa Cascata is a beautiful villa in Mediterranean architectural style along with traditional "Calçada Portuguesa" in the setting of Cascata Village.
This private and exclusive condominium at Cascata Village consists of extremely peaceful and private, family-owned villas. An idyllic environment with private gardens, a swimming pool for adults and children.
Villa Cascata is a private family owned, stylish, modern, and luxurious 3-bedroom villa. Ideal for romantic couples and families.
All areas of the villa are fully equipped, comfortable and welcoming. The dominating materials are stone and wood, harmoniously combining traditional architecture with modern aesthetics. In the decoration downstairs the prevailing tones are white, beige, raspberry and grey giving a discreet luxury. The upstairs picks up goldens and accents coupled with azure of the sea.
Villa Cascata offers fabulous amenities so that you can enjoy the sun-soaked lifestyle of the Algarve.
Within walking distance there are bars, restaurants, and a mini market, everything you need for your daily needs.
Set in a quiet area where tranquillity reigns, but only a short distance from Albufeira centre and some of the best beaches in the region like Praia Santa Eulália, Praia dos Olhos de Água and a short drive to the beaches at Praia de Vale do Lobo.
The Algarve is a place where generations come together and linger for hours over tables laden with local produce, where people have lived from the sea and worked the land. The cadence of the seasons brings juicy, tangy oranges in the spring; fat, succulent sardines in the summer, grilled over charcoal on the streets enjoyed after a languid day on the beach; a relaxed and slower pace of life. The Algarve is a place with deep roots and an open heart, where visitors are welcomed and locals are quietly very proud that their corner of the world is considered one of the most beautiful places you could experience. So come and visit sejam bem vindos!
