Surrounded by an eclectic mix of restaurants, award wining country pubs and an equally good choice of shopping, it’s easy to see why Bowness proves so popular. But for more traditional activities, why not take a trip on the famous steamers down to Lakeside, hire a rowing boat and paddle yourself around the many islands on Windermere or better still, enjoy a ride on the open top bus that regularly tours the area.
