The property was pretty much as described...quaint older style cabins. Rustic but very clean and with a few newer updates (Wifi, TV, furniture was not bad.) The owners were very helpful with a few issues we had. Parking was a bit challenging because of the layout of the property.Nice view of Lake Metonga. Also nice we could bring our dog.

We have plenty of parking. Since you were unable to access the map we sent you of the property, you may have been a little confused on parking areas. We were not aware of any parking issues you were having. Wish you would have just asked.

Vacation time

Cabins were rustic, clean, great views. Didn't know about the steps leading to dock, my knees were a little stressed. Fishing was not the best, but it was beautiful. Loved seeing the wildlife and flowers.

Great Lake views

Can’t beat the location & great views. There are steep steps going down to the road, which then crosses over to the dock. Older small cabins which suited our needs, there were a few things falling apart when touched (kitchen cabinet), and something leaking from the bottom of the toilet, but otherwise the beds and everything else was fine. Great place to spend time outdoors.

Wish you would have told the owner about the one kitchen cabinet that needed repair. We discovered it later and fixed it. Have not noticed or heard any other complaints about water near the toilet. It must have been some condensation since it was warm when you were there. Glad you enjoyed the property and its amazing views!

Nice Cabins

These are nice cabins and have exactly what is shown and stated. Some others had down graded but all must remember these are cabins and not houses. The amenities are that of a cabin and may be old but work and rooms my be small but are cabin sized. We rented both cabins for 2 families, 7 total plus 2 dogs and all was fine. Leave the internet and household amenities at home and enjoy the great up north. The lake was great for water activities and plenty of trails for hiking and atv/utv’s along with other activities within driving distance.

Week on Metonga

Nice cabin "across" from the lake. This wasn't a pristine cabin, it was rustic. But that is what we were looking for. The charm of a cabin like this is more appealing to us than something sterile and antiseptic. We experienced a few minor glitches during our stay, but our hosts addressed them quickly and efficiently and the joy of our stay was uninterrupted. There was almost always a breeze which made sleeping more comfortable and lessened the impact of the mosquitoes in the evening. The fishing wasn't great, but we caught some fish every time we went out and managed to keep enough for a couple meals. Overall, a very good week in northern Wisconsin. My only real complaint was that the description of the property and all the pictures failed to reveal that there is a road between the cabins on the hill and the lake. Just before booking we were told the cabins were on a hill, but no mention of a road. It wasn't a hwy, more or less a residential road , but it had a fair amount of traffic and young kids might have a problem crossing. Would we go again? Probably not, but because we would look for a better fishing lake, not because of the cabin itself, which we enjoyed.

Had the traveler checked the map in the property description, they would easily see that there is a road between the lake and cabin. The cabin offers spectacular views of the lake and the road is rarely an issue, and we always point it out when the traveler is bringing small kids. The "minor glitches" the traveler refers to were the 4 items the traveler broke during the stay. Not our best renter and everyone has variable fishing skills. The lake is known for its Perch, Walleye, Small Mouth Bass and Northern Pike.

Cute cabins, great view

Cute, rustic cabins with a great view of the lake. The owners are great to work with and assisted us with additional things we needed as we were flying in vs driving in. We would definitely stay here again.
