Home Farm Cottage (with swimming pool and sauna)

Home Farm has a separate, newly refurbished, self-catering cottage. The cottage sleeps up to six people and has a very sizeable living room with a wood-burning stove and a fully-fitted kitchen with a seating area. Free parking spaces are available directly in front of the cottage.

Balgavies Home Farm has an exclusive on-site spa area that includes a 10-meter swimming pool, with a countercurrent pump for keen swimmers, a jacuzzi, and a Finnish sauna with three separate showers. An additional charge of £10 per person applies for use of the whole spa area. £5 per person for the swimming pool only. These prices apply to a two-hour period. Special prices apply for groups of three and above.
PLEASE NOTE THE USE OF THE SWIMMING POOL AND SAUNA IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE FOR THE ROOM.

Awesome country cottage

We had a lovely stay at the cottage and the kids really enjoyed the pool. The scenery was breathtaking and we loved the amenities. The cottage was beautifully maintained.

Peace perfect peace

Very well appointed, comfortable beds, all facilities (including pool, jacuzzi, and sauna if you wish). Peaceful surroundings, yet near enough to travel to various places of interest. Excellent hosts. Would definitely return.

Relaxing holidays

House is very clean. Stylish interior. Kitchen well equipped with everything you need. Pool great (we did not use the sauna). We had a very relaxing stay. Paula fulfilled very wish we had. When we visit Scotland again, this is the place to stay.

Perfect mini break

So lucky to have found this wonderful cottage for our annual get-together of family and friends. Accommodation is first class for comfort and amenity. And the on-site spa is truly a luxurious addition. Ideal location in the beautiful Angus countryside. Perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Lovely clean cottage

Cottage is in a lovely quiet location and is very well equipped- beds are very coverage too. I didn’t have much communication from the hosts as didn’t need it- only downside was getting told off for putting the radiators on. I couldn’t get the towels dry overnight for a shower the next day- weather was too wet to hand them out and they wouldn’t dry in the cottage.

Dear Mandi, we leave our guests in peace unless they wish it otherwise. What we DID tell you was because there is no dryer in the cottage, that you can give us your wet clothes to dry. But that didn't suit you either, you didn't want your clothes dryed that way. We did NOT tell you not to use the radiators: We told you to stop using the radiators on max temperature to dry clothing with the windows open. It is the middle of summer, and heating rooms upto 27⁰ C to just to dry clothing is neither environmentally nor financially viable for us or the planet. For the wet weather/washing we can't be held responsible as we did offer to dry them for you.

Dear Aiden, ...seriously? There was an age limit on my property has an age limit of 25 and over, for a reason! Six 18 year olds drinking excessively and using substances are NOT welcome! That's why you were "removed" from the premises! Try owning running a business before you say something is expensive, you are 18 and live with at home with your Mum. You broke my T&Cs by booking in the first place! Be thankful we didn't call the police...

Robert & Paula moved to Scotland at the end of 2019. Paula is a native and comes from Aberdeen originally. Robert comes from Germany near the city of Hameln. Both speak fluent English and German.

Home Farm is set in the beautiful rolling Angus countryside within the Lunan Valley. Things are quiet here. Perfect, if you want to get away from the stress of daily life. It's a place to relax take long walks and slow down.
The buildings date from around 1890, the old steadings and mill form a complex
of buildings which include: a private house, a cottage and a bed & breakfast.

What makes this property unique

We also offer the use of our luxurious spa area with a swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, and aquarium. These facilities are NOT included in the price of your stay but are available for all our guests who want to book it for some relaxing downtime. The use of this area should be booked in advance if at all possible, especially for the use of the sauna. This guarantees your group’s private time and also avoids too many guests in the spa area at any given time. Swimming Pool and Spa Area rules are provided prior to your stay.
