The cottage is set in a peaceful location and benefits from a pretty garden with both a patio and grassed area. This outside space is a real sun trap so you can enjoy al-fresco dining throughout your stay.
The Space:
The living room at Eden Cottage is a cosy space filled with character and traditional features. It has a comfy sofa and matching armchair, a flat-screen smart TV with apps for entertainment, and a log-burning fireplace to keep you warm and snug during the colder months.
The kitchen showcases even more traditional features with exposed beams. You’ll have access to all the appliances you need to make your favourite dishes during your stay, whilst the spacious wooden dining table is perfect for sitting down and enjoying your meal with your loved ones.

The Neighborhood:
Eden Cottage is located on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne just a few miles off the Northumberland coast. Cut off twice-daily from the rest of the world due to the fast-moving tides of the North Sea, the island has a truly magical feel.
Occasionally grey seals can be seen sunning themselves on the coastline or bobbing through the waters. If you’d like unspoilt sandy shores, head to Coves Haven beach on the northern side of Holy Island. High sand dunes and steep cliffs shelter this small, remote beach making it the perfect spot to relax.
Rising from the rock face, you can’t miss Lindisfarne Castle which was originally built in 1550 as a fort to defend the harbour. Restored back in 2017, you can visit the castle today to take in the outstanding architecture, history and views.
With plenty of landscapes to discover, Lindisfarne is very popular with walkers. It is even the final destination of St Cuthbert’s Way, one of Scotland’s Great Trails. There is an array of wildlife throughout the island, from the mudflats to the dunes which together form the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve. You’ll find a whole host of different bird breeds such as the pale-bellied brent geese bar-tailed godwits.
Getting Around:
Eden Cottage is within walking distance of all that Holy Island has to offer and just a few miles from the main Northumberland coast.
The easiest way to travel to Holy Island is by car but there is a 477 bus service from Berwick-upon-Tweed which travels to the island with a return trip later in the day.
There is a train station in Berwick-upon-Tweed with regular services to Newcastle and Edinburgh as well as London Kings Cross.
Berwick-upon-Tweed is within 45 minutes’ drive time of other popular Northumberland destinations such as Alnwick, Alnmouth, Seahouses and Bamburgh so it’s perfectly located for exploring. There are also a number of bus routes through the town. Hop on the X15 Arriva bus which travels to Newcastle and has stops in Belford, Alnwick and Morpeth. If you’d like to visit Craster, Seahouses, Bamburgh, Amble or Alnmouth, the X18 Arriva bus will take you there.
