We only stayed for a weekend in the off season, but the area is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend especially for families of all ages.
Fantastic house and location! The house was set up perfectly for our group of two families. We had plenty of space and we thoroughly enjoyed the backyard/patio and dock. Anna was a great host - very accommodating and communicative. Would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a waterfront home on Lake Gaston.
This property has it all! Great location on the lake. If you like to boat, kayak, fish this is the place to be. Bad weather, no problem hang out in the game room. The host Anna super nice and responsive to questions during booking and stay. Highly recommend!
This property was ideal with the many group seating areas and hideaways for group activities and yet alone time when wanting a few minutes away from the family gathering. Very clean and relaxing. Had what is needed for a comfortable stay and home away from home vacation. Would recommend.
This lake house is amazing! Anna, the property owner/manager was VERY accommodating for our family and the house was perfect! We cannot wait to stay again when it’s warm! Thanks for being a great host Anna!

We had a great time at this lake house. We spent the majority of the time on the dock. The house has everything we could need and fit our needs great. The game room is so fun for kids and adults.
We loved sitting on the dock as much as possible. There is a covered area so we could do that even during the rain. The fire pit is so nice and we loved using that. The beds we’re comfortable and the places is decorated very cute! We really enjoyed this property!

Mary Scott and her family were great guests. Glad they used and enjoyed the fire pit and kayaks. We would welcome them back any time. They were definitely 5 star guests!
We loved our stay at Pasture Gate Lodge! The dock is awesome and a great spot to hang out. We loved kayaking around the cove. The fire pit is such a cozy spot for relaxing and s'mores. The house was clean, comfortable, and so nice with the big windows overlooking the lake. Our 4 year old loved bunk beds and game room. Would love to come back!
Beautiful view from the house to the lake, quiet and peaceful. Dock was perfect for my husband to fish around, he caught right many. House had everything we needed ,without worry. Plenty of towels, sheets etc.
The lodge is an awesome place to hang out, boat, fish, eat, drink, goof off or whatever it is that appeals to your version of lake life. Pasture Gate Road has to be one of the best neighborhoods on LKG and this VRBO host is superb to work with. Highly recommend.
The house has scenic views , spacious living space and all the amenities needed for your comfort. The deck areas are spacious and the game room was a nice add. Waking up to the views of The Lake was very peaceful! Owners were very responsive and helpful with the area.

Cindy and Danny were great guests, thank you for this review! We would welcome you back to visit again anytime. If you liked visiting in January you would love it when the weather is warmer! Anna
Had a great stay, the home was very clean and comfortable. This is on a quiet street which I really appreciate as there is no noise from traffic. Had everything we needed on the inside plus a great game room separated from the main living area. The dock is fantastic! The water is deep for swimming, kayaks were awesome and there was plenty of room on the dock to gather outdoors and relax. Really great place and fantastic communication! Look forward to staying again.

We had an absolutely amazing time at this lake house! The property is beautifully maintained and truly has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The dock was a highlight—we spent hours enjoying the water, soaking up the sun, and taking in the peaceful views. Inside, the house was spotless, and super comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked, so if you love to cook like us, you have everything you need. An extra perk was the game room in the detached garage—it was perfect for late-night fun without disturbing anyone who wanted to turn in early. Whether you're looking to unwind or have some fun on the lake, this place is ideal. Anna, the homeowner, was fantastic—so easy to communicate with and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Whether you're looking to unwind or have some fun on the lake, this place is ideal. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back!
The week at Lake Gaston was really quite perfect for our family. We relaxed in the beautiful lake home, grilled, enjoyed both the deck outside the house & the dock lakeside was perfect for reading in the shade on the covered side and sunbathing on second level. All the outdoor toys are there kayaks, canoe & life jackets. Inside at night we had a friendly family competition of twister and pool. Don’t hesitate to book this Gaston lake property. Anna was fantastic to communicate with prior to arriving and once there it was a breeze getting into house and settled. If you have a chance rent a jet ski we did for a day and had so much fun! Thanks again Anna we had a wonderful week.
This stay at Pasture Gate Lodge was PERFECT for our family. We lived on the lake for 15 years and knew the area. Anna was professional and very accommodating for check in and Check out. The house is great for kids and adults. The bonus pool and entertainment room is a great hang out. Thanks so much for a great week on the lake. PS. Jumped many many times from the top dock!!
You expect your host to make your stay comfortable, but Anna went above and beyond to ensure my husband and I had a memorable stay. Anna recommended a launch area for our boat and helped us launch it. She came by to check on us to make sure we were happy with our accommodations and then left us alone to enjoy them. At the end of our stay, she and her son Jeremy were up early to help us take our boat out. You can't get better service than that! Anna was an excellent host!

Eileen and Larry, what a pleasure to have you choose to stay at the lodge! Your boat is beautiful, thanks for allowing us to take a ride with you. Glad we could help you launch and reload safely. We would love to have you back if you choose Lake Gaston in the future. Cheers! Anna
Our stay at the Pasture Gate on Lake Gaston was a dream come true. The quiet cove provided a safe place for our kids to play in the water and park our boat without fear of damage by waves and wind.
The house is well kept, and the accommodations are great. We enjoyed waking up to a view of the water after spending our evenings playing games and music in the detached game room. Our older children really enjoyed the pool table and the separate space for them to hang out.
We only experienced one minor glitch and the host was very quick to respond and resolve the issue. In fact, our host went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was both relaxing and fun for everyone.
If you’re looking for a place to kick up your feet and relax, you have found the right listing. Highly recommend!

Chris, thank you so much for your kind comments! You and your young "scouts" were fun to have visit to fish, tie knots, swim etc.
I would be happy to welcome you all back in the future for your next visit to Lake Gaston. Anna
We enjoyed our short vacation. Pasture gate is centrally located on Lake Gaston and an easy boat or JetSki ride from Shady Shack , Waters View or The Pointe bars and restaurants. Unfortunately, the timing was after Labor Day, and the septic system could not keep up with the many guests. There was a smell from the septic tank outside the door leading to the kitchen and as instructed, we did not use the laundry. We had tons of fun on the JetSki, but can see where on the weekends, the Cove must get very busy, although it is a no wake zone. Anna, was very responsive and on site during our stay. Accommodations would be great for two small families with a boat.

Hi Ray, I am glad you enjoyed your stay. Re septic, all of the lake is on septic, it is something we all deal with. Our system is fine. No different than any other home on the lake!
I do agree with your comment, the house is great for 2 families, 4 adults and 2-4 kids fit in just perfectly! We welcome your family back anytime. Anna
Pasture Gate is the perfect place to stay on Lake Gaston! My family has vacationed at Lake Gaston for the past 7 years, we’ve stayed in different rentals every year because we had yet to find one that met all of our various needs…until we struck gold this year with Pasture Gate! It is located in a quiet cove with very respectful neighbors. We were able to easily tie our boat off at the dock without any issues or concerns. And the dock has everything we could have wanted - we swam, fished, jumped from the upper deck, sat under the covered side and watched a thunderstorm pass through, my 17 year old strung up his hammock to lounge in, and I got to enjoy a cup of coffee on the swing every morning. The house was exceptionally clean and well stocked and all the beds were very comfortable. Our kids range in age from 20 years old to 5 years old and when we weren’t out on the lake or dock, my older kids enjoyed playing pool and hanging out in the garage while my 5 year old happily played with play doh at the table on the large porch or beating me in a round of Twister in the living room.
Anna is a wonderful host; so welcoming and kind, extremely responsive and a wealth of Lake Gaston knowledge.
We can not wait to come back to Pasture Gate next year!

Hi Jessica and Jonathan, Thank you both for this wonderful review of your stay. You all took advantage of all parts of the house and the lake which is lovely to see! You also got very lucky with weather for July 4th week.
You took great care of the house, and were easy to work with throughout. I hope you choose to visit us again in the future, I would welcome you back. Have a great summer! Anna
This was an amazing time to reconnect with some old friends, and make some new ones along the way! I reached out to make the reservation a few months in advance, and Anna (the owner) was extremely helpful in not only getting the booking done, but also suggesting some additional dates that would better maximize my groups time at the property. Anna was also very prompt in responding, as well as sending out the "pre arrival" check-in information.
Check-in was a breeze, parking instructions were clear, and the home was 100% clean and ready for us to move in for a week. Note that the closest two facilities for goods are a Dollar General and a Convenience store - both were perfect for our immediate needs, and Casa-Mia's in Littleton makes a great pizza for that first night if you're not up for cooking!
As advertised, we were easily able to stream the Hurricanes game on the TV in the living room - and there was plenty of other space, both inside and out, for those that weren't sports fans to enjoy their own activities (such as the fire pit!)
The boat dock and amenities (kayaks, etc) were perfect for our group, and I had no issues tying my boat (23 foot wakeboard boat) up at the dock for the week. Gaston is a pretty clean lake, so leaving your boat in just requires a regular post-use wipe down, nothing crazy like some other muddy lakes!
Checking out was also just as easy - we did a quick clean up and off we went!
100% will stay here again!
