14/9 - 21/9/24 Had a wonderful time. Few little hiccups with the electric charging point, but a quick phone call and all sorted within minutes. Cottage was easy to find and very well equipped. The little welcome pack was very thoughtful. We would definitely recommend.

A wonderful stay in a wonderful home.
A wonderful stay in a wonderful home. And what a wonderful location, too!Ivy Cottage was everything we wanted from a peaceful family getaway - dog n’ all! Or as peaceful as it can be with a 10 month old and a spaniel… and Boscastle delivers quiet tranquility in abundance! An achingly beautiful village, perfect for letting the dog run her energy off and recoup in the terrific custom-made dog bed the cottage offers. And baby Theo seemed to find the allures of the coastal path and those jaw-dropping vistas as mesmeric as we did..The local shops, pubs and amenities are perfectly located within walking distance from Ivy Cottage, equidistant in both directions - you just have to decide whether to go up first, or down to the Harbour and face the considerable drag back uphill afterwards. But you’ve got to earn those pints somehow! ;)The cottage itself is marvellously cosy, with homeliness (and equipment!) aplenty. It’s not enormous, as you’d expect from a traditional seaside village house, but it’s more than enough for a family to feel comfortable in, especially the wide open and very enviable kitchen/dining area. The stair gate at the bottom of the stairs also came in particularly helpful with a baby on the move, even if it’s intended for the dog (and needed a bit of TLC on the hinge bracket). The greeting basket was a welcome touch - not often we’ve had cider as the offering, but thoroughly enjoyed it!! And could be enjoyed from a rather appealing veranda in the afternoon sun, overlooking the steep but pleasant garden. Again, perfect for the dog!Access was easy - the host directions and instructions were clear, the key box was great, and parking was fine for our needs. We had one estate car that fit easily in the designated parking spot, but then also managed to fit a small hatchback across the end horizontal to the road quite comfortably too, when a friend came to visit.Communication with the hosts has been brilliant, and they even very kindly allowed us to keep the doggie water bottle that we accidentally took home from the cottage in our luggage :)In short… we loved it! And would quite happily return to Ivy Cottage any time.In fact, I wish we were back there right now..
