About this property
Owl Cottage, Great Snoring, Norfolk
Retaining many original features such as oak beams, inglenook fireplace, sash windows and exposed flint, Owl Cottage is a charming Grade II listed 17th Century hideaway full of character cottage. In 2022 the cottage underwent a full renovation plus extension, introducing space, light, a wealth of modern comforts and en-suite facilities. Here ancient and modern work beautifully in harmony.
Nestled on a quiet lane in the pretty village of Great Snoring, Owl Cottage is a rural gem. Only a short drive away from the historical village of Great Walsingham which leads to Wells-next-the-Sea, you are perfectly placed to enjoy a peaceful getaway with all the magic of inland and coastal North Norfolk within reach.
Upon entering the cottage via a side door, you are greeted by a small entrance lobby, convenient for removing wet coats and muddy boots. Take a left turn through the stable door to enter the light filled A-framed extension housing a new contemporary kitchen boasting a full range of modern appliances. This room and the adjoining garden room featuring original stone walls, both overlook the south facing rear garden. Walk from this extension through to the beautiful original cottage. This living environment comprises of a splendid beamed dining room with original inglenook fireplace housing a large wood burning stove, and a cosy, comfortable sitting room with sumptuous deep sofas set against a feature stone wall. Perfect for getting nestled in to watch a film on the Smart television.
Steep cottage stairs lead up to two bedrooms on the first floor; one double bedroom and the other a twin bedroom. Each boasts private en-suite facilities with underfloor heating. Outside, a fully enclosed south-facing lawned garden creates a safe place for children and dogs to roam freely. The first of two patio areas is immediately outside the cottage, and hosts garden furniture with seating for six guests plus a charcoal barbecue. The smaller patio is to the side of the lawn, allowing you to catch sun and shade throughout the day. The drive allows parking for two cars and features an electric vehicle charging point.
Owl Cottage is ideal for a couples or a small family. This area of North Norfolk offers endless walks in nature, picturesque villages, the glorious coastline with expansive sandy beaches, and marshes teeming with bird life.
Additional Information:
Two well behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge).
Pillows and duvets are synthetic fibre.
Travel cot and high chair available on request. Please bring your own linen for the travel cot.
Access note: The stairs are steep and twisted with a narrow tread.
