Cottage Summary:

This cottage ticks all the boxes; prime location, 2 good sized double bedrooms, bathroom and separate shower room. There is on street car parking and a lovely good sized mature garden. The front aspect overlooks open countryside.

Burnham Thorpe is just over a mile to Burnham Market with its interesting shops, cafes and restaurants, and is just over two miles from the coast at Burnham Overy Staithe a picturesque quay with sailing boats moored all around and a fantastic coastal walk out to a large sandy beach. Small but perfectly formed cottage
We had a wonderful week in Norfolk. The local beaches are beautiful and the coastal paths provided great walks. Everything was in easy reach and despite being high summer nowhere seemed crowded. The local village is expensive so I’d advise taking as much as you can for the fridge beforehand. The cottage is very nicely decorated, well equipped and clean. The garden is lovely and we enjoyed sitting outside in the evening. The gardens are very close though (which is to be expected for a terraced cottage) but something to consider if you are concerned about privacy. Just a few negatives, the master bed was very uncomfortable and the coffee machine uses pods that are hard to find. Small things and nothing that impacted on our overall enjoyment. We booked through Norfolk Stay who provided an excellent service and replied to any queries immediately. I’d have no hesitation in using them again and will definitely return to the area in the future .

Fond memories! Would definitely go back again
We had a lovely week at Rose Cottage in June 2023 (two adults and a dog). The cottage is located perfectly for a quiet getaway and although small, has everything you need, right down to kitchen essentials. When we arrived we weren’t able to open one of the locks despite having the key and both being sensible adults however Jamie, the Property Manager was with us within 20mins- thank you Jamie! The master bedroom is big and well-equipped but I found the mattress in the smaller bedroom well-worn and very soft and I ended up switching to the other room as I found my bad back getting considerably worse and I didn’t want it to ruin my holiday. The cottage is really nicely decorated and tastefully accessorised. There were a few things that needed doing such as giving the kettle a good descale and cleaning the outdoor lounge furniture, which we didn’t use as it was covered in bird poo and bits from surrounding trees etc. We weren’t going to cry about this but noticed that the cottage does have mobile numbers for Emma and Jamie (cleaning and maintenance) if you really needed/wanted something done during your stay. The cottage is great for a calm dog and the surrounding area was excellent for dog walks. The garden is big and good for dogs. A few random bits of stuff garden (a double kayak and a rubbish bag of unknown contents (maybe rubble?) round the back of the kayak) so bits like that took one star away but still a really solid stay in a memorable, quaint, cosy place.
Stayed 7 nights in Jun 2023

8/10 Good

Cosy cottage, good location.
Cosy cottage in a good location for visiting North Norfolk. Well equipped kitchen, although would have been good to have known in advance that we required pods for the coffee maker. Good bathroom facilities (en suite shower was slow to drain). The towels are on the small size. Overall a good cottage to stay in.

Lovely stay in Rose Cottage
We had a lovely half term week staying at Rose Cottage. The cottage itself is very clean and the kitchen and bathrooms well appointed, which was great for our family of four. The only negative point was that it would have been good to have a set of chest of drawers in the second bedroom to unpack properly, but other than that it was perfect - would highly recommend!
