We had a lovely stay at Rose cottage, it was perfectly clean and the beds were super comfy.
The cottage has everything you could need, it was like being at home, it is so well furnished and equipped even down to the garden furniture/bbq etc and the garden was secure for my labrador, parking outside was not a problem and it was really easy to unload the car.
We loved the area and the village and nearby Burnham Market was really handy to pick up supplies.
We would definitely love to come back one day

Perfect peace in rural Norfolk
Beautiful cottage, cosy, shabby-chic, everything we needed and much appreciated welcome basket. Well located for visiting Wells, Burnham Market, Holkham Hall and the beaches of the samphire coast. We would certainly recommend.

The cottage was perfect for a family of 3 (plus dog) with walks from the cottage around the village and so many amazing beaches nearby and fantastic places to eat - spoilt for choice. We had everything we needed at the cottage which is very well equipped and looked after. We hope to come back another time

A relaxing holiday
We really enjoyed our holiday in Norfolk staying in Rose Cottage. We loved the location, the garden, the comfy bed and having two bathrooms. The cottage was well equipped and clean. We were slightly concerned about parking right on the road and would not have wanted to get children in and out of the car.
Useful feedback to owners/managers - the seal around kitchen sink plug has perished meaning sink won't hold water. Needs replacement or provide washing up bowl. Garden shrubs and hedges were very overgrown and untidy. The garden would be amazing with a bit of a tidy up. Some fencing damage at the rear so no longer dog proof.

Small but perfectly formed cottage
We had a wonderful week in Norfolk. The local beaches are beautiful and the coastal paths provided great walks. Everything was in easy reach and despite being high summer nowhere seemed crowded. The local village is expensive so I’d advise taking as much as you can for the fridge beforehand. The cottage is very nicely decorated, well equipped and clean. The garden is lovely and we enjoyed sitting outside in the evening. The gardens are very close though (which is to be expected for a terraced cottage) but something to consider if you are concerned about privacy. Just a few negatives, the master bed was very uncomfortable and the coffee machine uses pods that are hard to find. Small things and nothing that impacted on our overall enjoyment. We booked through Norfolk Stay who provided an excellent service and replied to any queries immediately. I’d have no hesitation in using them again and will definitely return to the area in the future .

The garden is a disgrace
The cottage was fabulous. It was very clean, well equipped and had everything you needed for a comfortable weeks holiday.
However, I was very disappointed with the state of the garden.
Having paid £1,125 for the rental I didn't expect to have to sit with foot high thistles in the lawn and well overgrown shrubbery in the borders.
It was obvious to me that no gardening had been undertaken within the property for many weeks, which is such a shame, as the standard of the cottage interior is very high.
By making you aware of the garden, let's hope the problem can be rectified, before anyone else raises a concern, particularly those families with young children who undoubtingly would always prefer to play on the lawn!!

Hello Julie
Thank you for taking the time to review Rose Cottage. All feedback is very welcome and helps us to understand your experience and to maintain the usual high standards.
I am very sorry to hear that the garden was overgrown. I have investigated further and have been told that we did have an issue with the gardener for a short while.
We do not take these comments lightly and would have much preferred you to report this to us straight way so that we could have resolved the issue at the start of your holiday.
I do hope that you stay with us again.
We had a lovely week at Rose Cottage in June 2023 (two adults and a dog).
The cottage is located perfectly for a quiet getaway and although small, has everything you need, right down to kitchen essentials.
When we arrived we weren’t able to open one of the locks despite having the key and both being sensible adults however Jamie, the Property Manager was with us within 20mins- thank you Jamie!
The master bedroom is big and well-equipped but I found the mattress in the smaller bedroom well-worn and very soft and I ended up switching to the other room as I found my bad back getting considerably worse and I didn’t want it to ruin my holiday.
The cottage is really nicely decorated and tastefully accessorised. There were a few things that needed doing such as giving the kettle a good descale and cleaning the outdoor lounge furniture, which we didn’t use as it was covered in bird poo and bits from surrounding trees etc. We weren’t going to cry about this but noticed that the cottage does have mobile numbers for Emma and Jamie (cleaning and maintenance) if you really needed/wanted something done during your stay.
The cottage is great for a calm dog and the surrounding area was excellent for dog walks. The garden is big and good for dogs. A few random bits of stuff garden (a double kayak and a rubbish bag of unknown contents (maybe rubble?) round the back of the kayak) so bits like that took one star away but still a really solid stay in a memorable, quaint, cosy place.

Cosy cottage, good location.
Cosy cottage in a good location for visiting North Norfolk. Well equipped kitchen, although would have been good to have known in advance that we required pods for the coffee maker. Good bathroom facilities (en suite shower was slow to drain). The towels are on the small size.
Overall a good cottage to stay in.

Lovely stay in Rose Cottage
We had a lovely half term week staying at Rose Cottage. The cottage itself is very clean and the kitchen and bathrooms well appointed, which was great for our family of four. The only negative point was that it would have been good to have a set of chest of drawers in the second bedroom to unpack properly, but other than that it was perfect - would highly recommend!

Wonderfully relaxing stay
We had a lovely stay in Rose Cottage. It's in a great location, is really nicely furnished, and has a wonderful garden as well. Everything was neat, clean and tidy, and the finishing touches made the cottage really special.
Rose Cottage is a great cottage. It is not big inside (particularly the galley kitchen) but has a lovely long garden, and everything is very well organised and thought through. It is all newly refurbished and very comfortable with excellent bathrooms, and bright and airy bedrooms. The hosts were very responsive and made everything very easy for us.

A beautiful cottage and fabulous garden in the quiet village of Burnham Thorpe, just a 7 min drive to Burnham Market. Everything you could need for a family of 4. Bijoux, but a perfect base to explore the stunning Norfolk countryside and coastline.

Julie-Anne and her group were great guests. We would be more than happy for them to come back again soon.
Just spent a week at this picturesque little cottage. The photos on line don’t do it justice, they need updating. It had everything we could wish for and was spotlessly clean, we were welcomed with a bottle of wine and complimentary milk and biscuits a lovely touch. Would highly recommend this little gem to anyone wishing to explore the North Norfolk coast.
We absolutely loved Rose Cottage, it was perfect for our three year old and dog and so homely. Location was amazing with Wells and Holkham so close and Burnham Market was beautiful. The garden was huge and our little one loved looking out of her window every morning to see the animals roaming in the farm opposite. Would definitely recommend!
We had a wonderful short break in Rose Cottage. The cottage was very pretty and we had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the garden was perfect for relaxing in, in the evening sun. Burnham Thorpe is an idllyic setting.

Beautiful, well cared for and ideal for us
Perfect location for exploring the beautiful Wells-Next-The-Sea and Cromer. The nearest town of Burnham Market was picture postcard perfect and had all we needed & more. A delightful cottage in an ideal location. We will be back!

Lovely cottage
Just returned from a three night stay at this cottage and had a lovely time. While there’s not much in Burnham Thorpe, the cottage is about 5 mins drive from Burnham Market and very well located for enjoying the north Norfolk coast.
Lovely welcome hamper, large garden, liked having a downstairs toilet as well as the two bathrooms upstairs. The only down side for us was the bed configuration - the larger bedroom with ensuite has two single beds, while the smaller bedroom has the double bed. We were two adults and two kids (a 3 year old and a 5 week old), there wasn’t room in the double for our cot, so we had to let our 3 year old have the double while we slept in the singles!! Also, no place to hang clothes in the twin room, so everything went into the double room wardrobe.
Other than that, we had a lovely time.

Thank you for your kind review. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay at Rose Cottage.
I am sorry the bed configuration did not work for you especially as the two single beds are actually zip beds which can be joined together to make a large double. I hope you stay with us again and we can make the beds up to your request.
Kind Regards
