Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: The charging of electric vehicles is prohibted at the property. The nearest EVCP is under 1 mile away.. Tucked away along the upper harbour, just on the edge of Whitby, is the aptly named Harbour Retreat. This wonderful, beautifully furnished holiday home benefits from off road parking, which is a big bonus in this popular coastal town. There is also a spacious enclosed rear garden, with an elevated decked area, boasting wonderful views down the harbour and over the town; the perfect spot for enjoying the afternoon sun, or even a BBQ whilst soaking up the scenery.

Enter the property to be greeted by a spacious open plan living area, on colder evenings snuggle up on the plush corner sofa in front of the warm glow from the gas stove. The designated chef of the group can whip up tasty meals for the whole family in the well equipped kitchen, which you can enjoy at the dining table looking down to the harbour and out towards the abbey, giving a wonderful view; or if the sun is shining, why not step outside and toast your retreat with a glass of fizz as the stars begin to fill the sky? Upstairs are two well presented bedrooms, both boasting Hypnos mattresses to ensure you get a great night’s sleep. There is a double bedroom as well as a master king bedroom. Plus the family bathroom is on this floor with a shower over the bath. As you go upstairs take a moment to take in the fabulous harbour views from the landing. The nearest pub and fish and chip shop are less than a 5-minute walk away – Whitby has unbeatable fish and chips!

The bustling centre of Whitby is awe inspiring, with the cobbled old town, beaches, piers and the iconic abbey all within a 10 minute walk. Whitby has something for all age groups and is one of the most visited resorts along the east coast. This seafaring town is proud of its heritage, there are tales of Viking invasions, heroic sea rescues as well as seafaring pioneers. Discover more at the museums, including one on a tall ship in the harbour. Today fishermen still sail from Whitby, there are many award-winning restaurants where you can sample freshly caught seafood. There are also festivals throughout the seasons making this a perfect all-year-round resort to visit.

The surrounding North York Moors National Park is full of woodland trails as well as the wonderful heritage steam railway that runs through the middle. The steam train leaves Whitby and travels over the moors towards the market town of Pickering, with picturesque villages along the way. There is an array of seaside towns and villages along the coast to visit, with breathtaking beaches and coves, including Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay and Sandsend.

For dog owners this is paradise, there are some wonderful walks to discover, and most beaches in this area are dog friendly or have dog friendly sections. Most pubs and cafés also welcome dogs here, there is even a dog bakery for extra special treats! There is something to delight everyone all year round, this is a great area to explore.
