10/10 Excellent

Ann Adamson

Absolutely excellent.

Absolutely excellent. Beautifully presented. Big comfy bed. Bedroom downstairs so lovely light and not overlooked sitting room on first floor. We are 82 years old and the stairs were no problem, handholds on each side and thick carpet, stairs curved round gently so no danger of falling. We had no car, public transport was absolutely excellent, we were less than five minutes from bus stop for many buses and five from train station. Very very quiet property. We did fabulous walks on cliffs and along the coast on sands, beautiful town, amazing architecture, every building different from neighbour. We had two weeks of sunshine but it was windy so we just took light waterproofs out with us which worked well when we needed them. Wind absolutely no problem. Bathroom on first floor but second toilet on ground floor by bedroom. Very pretty dressing table. Everything we needed was to hand. So thoughtful. Lovely bottle of wine when we arrived and chocolates. The picture of the siting room is very deceptive. It makes the room look very narrow but the picture I feel is taken from the wrong direction, and makes the room look very small. There is a lovely comfy easy chair and a big settee to lie down on to watch the good sized TV. The decor is beautifully chosen, quiet and peaceful. Yes we loved our two weeks there, doing something different every day. The Ramparts are fantastic, get guide from Library. Bus timetables also from the Library, all of them!! Would just point out that you need to go to Morrisons to stock up with food. It is about five minutes on the No. 1 bus. Wish we had known this when we arrived! We spend ages trying to find food shops in town. There is an M&S Food Hall on the other side of the river on same bus route. There is B & M for basics in the town. We totally recommend this lovely property. We had two lovely weeks without a car and went somewhere different every day.
