The space Located just off Bootham, the house has been fully refurbished to a genuine 5 star standard. 4 bedrooms: Three king size beds and two single beds creating flexible accommodation for both families and larger adult groups. Including a rarely found king bedroom with an en-suite shower room at ground floor level overlooking the secure walled courtyard, which is ideal for guests with reduced mobility. 2 Smart TVs with Netflix, wireless internet access, bluetooth speaker and Xbox provided. There is a lovely secluded patio to the rear with new garden furniture. A unique space for guests to enjoy! Interior designed, with bespoke full length interlined curtains and roman blinds throughout. Top end bathrooms with underfloor heating. A combination of predominantly brand new and quirky antique furnishings sourced especially for The City Escape.
St Olaves Road is situated directly off Bootham. Bootham which is full of Georgian buildings is the most important route into the centre of the city and was founded in Roman times. There are a number of shops, restaurants and bars on Bootham, as well as within the city centre which is only a 5/10 minute walk.

Fully refurbished: New kitchen with Bosch appliances, Family bathroom with top end Burlington products, 1 ensuite shower room, separate WC. This is a stunning property and very well equipped. It is very clean and there are furnished to a high standard. The decor is gorgeous. A short stroll takes you into York centre. We will definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved staying here. The flat was decorated so nice, and was so clean. Great location. We all felt like we were at home. Very spacious. Will definitely stay here next time while in York.
Only a 10 min walk to the centre of York, this property was ideal for our weekend away, exploring the shops, history, and christmas markets!. Plenty of space, large bedrooms, clean and a nice homely feel. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away, thank you

Quiet neighborhood, close to the city center. The host was very responsive to our needs. The beds were a little hard for my aching back. But I’m an also accustomed to a soft bed.
A lovely stay in York with my family for my sons Graduation. The house was superbly appointed and the location was within minutes of the centre.

What an AMAZING property! Conveniently located to City Centre, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a home away from home. Beth is a wonderful host and her communication with us about a delayed check in (due to inclement weather) was spot on. My family and I HIGHLY recommend Beth’s property to anyone looking for a great experience.
Lovely property - comfortable, nice decor, clean and very well equipped. The VRBO description of bathrooms is not accurate though - it says that there are 2 bathrooms with a shower only (one en suite on ground floor, one family bathroom on first floor) plus a separate toilet. The main bathroom has a shower and bath but no toilet ie property has 2 toilets and not 3. Not a problem for our party of 4 but might be a bit of an issue if there were 8 people staying.

Regarding the bathrooms, the portals count each room which has a shower, toilet, basin or bath in it, hence stating three. So as there are three of these rooms this is seen as correct within their guidelines. I do appreciate it can be confusing and always best to read hosts descriptions and have a good look through photos too.

Hi, I'm Beth! I own a small collection of holiday homes in York, Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby, and I am completely passionate about them, and the enjoyment of my guests. My family and I live in the countryside outside York and we have a dog called Tigger and three ducks, Genevieve, Duckie and Nugget. We are all happiest in the outdoors, particularly my rugby playing children, and we all love chocolate!
Why they chose this property
This property has been refurbished to a very high standard and is inviting, homely and comfortable. Whilst being centrally located, it lies on a quiet, residential road away from the hustle and bustle. A really tranquil, relaxing escape from the city! The house ticks all boxes, it is well proportioned and spacious with open plan sitting/dining room, four large bedrooms, 3 with king beds and one with twins, two and a half bathrooms - no queuing for the loo! One bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower room is on the ground floor - ideal for guests with mobility issues! There is a beautiful south facing patio, ideal for sunny breakfasts or lunch and pre dinner drinks. It has an on street parking permit - guests can always park on our street. We have various options for additional cars. Sorry no pets.
