Mix of original features (breezy windows), door handles that are too close to the door frame (watch those fingers) and modernized style decor makes for a mostly comfortable short stay. The host was vey communicative and everything was very clean.
I wish the largest bedroom had a super king mattress as there is enough space. Note the smallest bedroom just barely fits the bed so if 2 people are sleeping in that room, one will need to roll over to the far side. The beds were softer than I prefer but the other guests seemed to tolerate them well enough.
Don’t plan on more than 4 people comfortably watching the TV together as the TV oddly hangs above one of the sofas.
The kitchen is nicely updated.
We had a very enjoyable stay at this beautiful property. It was very clean and well-maintained, and the host was extremely responsive. We had no issues during our stay so did not need to contact him while there. The views are amazing and the location is excellent—within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and major sites. There are just a few things I'll add since they weren't obvious from the description. It is on the top two floors of a four level townhouse so there are multiple flights of stairs. We knew about that since I asked before booking but guests with mobility issues should be aware. The windows only open a couple of inches. The weather was beautiful when we were there but I imagine it could get pretty warm inside during the summer. There was a fan in the primary bedroom but I didn't see fans in the other two bedrooms. The en suite bathroom is small but was perfectly adequate and the water pressure was good in both showers. The other second floor bathroom was much larger and there is a powder room on the first floor. The 3rd bedroom is smaller than it appears in the photos but was fine for sleeping--just not much room for suitcases. There is a washer but no dryer for anyone who is interested in doing laundry while there. The furniture was comfortable and overall we had an excellent stay. I'd highly recommend both the property and the host.
Thoughtfully Managed, Great Location – with a Few Suggestions
We had an enjoyable stay at this centrally located apartment. It was clean, well-maintained, and Freddie was extremely responsive and helpful throughout our visit. The location is excellent—within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and major sites. However, a few updates could enhance the guest experience. We arrived during a heatwave, and the apartment retained heat for several days. The windows barely open, and only one fan was provided. Adding fans in each bedroom—or better cooling—would be a big improvement. The decor, while stylish, is excessive. The dining table had place settings for eight and three vases with artificial flowers that had to be cleared to use the table. There were also eight more decorative vases in the dining room and excessive throw pillows on the sofas. Removing some of these items would make the space more usable. There are multiple flights of stairs, which was tiring with luggage. Guests with mobility issues should be warned. The key/lockbox system was inconvenient with four guests; a keypad or extra keys would help. The en suite bathroom is extremely small. The sink is so tiny it’s barely functional, with no counter space. We had to use the toilet tank for toiletries. A small shelf would help. Finally, adding luggage racks in the bedrooms would help avoid placing bags on furniture. With a few thoughtful adjustments, this lovely apartment could be even more guest-friendly.
