Located across from a tranquil pond and two blocks from a private sandy beach, this bright and beautiful open concept home is a magical place to spend a few days (or, ideally, weeks). Designed in the 1960s by modernist architect Andrew Geller, this just-renovated house is a well-designed combination of original mid-century accents and modern amenities. Boasting huge windows, cathedral ceilings and new hardwood floors throughout, the house has 2.5 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, a wonderful outdoor shower, a year-round fireplace, a large deck, a twinkly al fresco dining area—and a resident bunny rabbit who comes out at dusk and dawn. Guests are welcomed (encouraged, actually) to use the beach wagon, bikes and/ or electric scooters for beach trips and/ or coffee / lobster roll / BBC runs at the nearby marina spots. This is, in case you couldn't tell, an especially perfect spot for two couples or a family.
Other amenities and points of interest: All brand new appliances (including full-sized Bosch gas stove, microwave and dishwasher, washer and dryer, a Smart TV, Weber gas grill). Convertible third bedroom with Murphy bed off the living room (hence the ‘2.5’ bedrooms). Central air and heating, as well as ceiling fans. Two bikes and two electric scooters available for guest use. Five minute walk to beach -- and the best sunset watching in all of Montauk. Fifteen minute walk (or five minute bike ride) to the marina restaurants, bars and shops like Swallow East, Salivar's, Gosman's, Goldberg's Bagels, Left Hand Coffee, Westlake Fish House, Liar's Saloon, Lynn's Hula Hut, the Hideaway.

Loved it here. I stayed with my husband and another couple and it was pretty perfect. The owners made us feel welcome, clearly thought through a lot of the details one would want to feel at home when on vacation. The house has a breezy open feel, with plenty of space for us to all cook and hang out together. (And an amazing kitchen!) We loved how quiet and full of nature the block was, with the pond across the street and a beach just down the road. We weren’t that familiar with the Culloden area and ended up really liking it. Didn’t really have to use the car much as we could walk or bike to the beach and the restaurants by the docks.
Can’t wait to come back in the summer and take full advantage of the deck and grill. And bikes!

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with the relaxed, wildly natural vibe of Montauk about ten years ago, and jumped at the chance to buy this happy little home. You can't beat the location: It's across the street from a quiet pond, it's a four-minute walk to the beach (yes, we timed it!) and a fifteen-minute walk along the ocean to the marina bars, restaurants and shops! We are on the west side of Montauk, so we are lucky enough to be able to enjoy Montauk's epic sunsets from our beach.
We spent the last year renovating the home, keeping as much of the original accents and design as we could while looking to update and enhance everything else.
