The garden is a year-round spectacle, adorned with seasonal blooms that paint a picturesque green retreat in the heart of the city.

Safety gates grace staircases for added peace of mind, and the modern tiled family bathroom boasts a heated floor, a rainforest shower, and a deep bath, along with a baby bath for our youngest guests.
Adding a touch of uniqueness, a converted loft space beckons as a sleeping nook boasting two solid wood single beds, a private workspace, or a playground. It's accompanied by its own toilet and basin room, offering both convenience and privacy.
Enjoy the privilege of free on-street permit parking for one car, excluding commercial vehicles.
Notably, the house boasts a rare feature in the area; an entire loft space, with its own toilet room, catering to work, play, or slumber.
For those travelling with younger guests allow us to lighten your load with a high chair, baby bath, child safety gates, travel cot, and mattress.

We loved our stay at the Aycliffe cottage. It was in a great location- walkable to everything. It was comfortable and clean and just what we needed for 2 adults and 4 children. It was well equipped for kids and we would definitely recommend!

Excellent house and position.
Lovely cottage in an excellent position. Had everything we needed, although some fresh milk waiting on arrival would have been appreciated. But we would certainly stay again if in York.

Great location
House was lovely and very clean when we arrived. Comfortable beds and living room. Best part was location, a 10 minute walk to most of Yorks best attractions.
Good location and facilities. Could do with a better clean, carpets and floors dirty

Cottage in York
This cottage is in a great location and within walk distance of all amenities. It is modern, well equipped and comfortable. There is a small but beautiful garden at the back, great for relaxing and enjoying a drink with friends and family. Highly recommended.
This house was great for our family of 4 adults. Plenty of room to relax and have our own space after a day of exploring York. It was very clean and well equipped. The neighborhood was quiet and the beds were comfortable so we were able to get good sleep during our stay. Washer and separate dryer were very helpful as we needed to get some laundry done during our stay. Kitchen had all needed amenities. Walking distance to the Shambles, Castle York, and restaurants and pubs. Communication with the hosts was prompt when needed and we appreciated the easy parking on the street. Highly recommended this property.
Very convenient location for exploring York. The kitchen was adequate for preparing meals. Our family was comfortable here and we enjoyed the large space with the family table. We had one maintenance issue with the clothes washer that was sorted promptly. It was good to know we could contact someone and the issue received attention. There is a small bakery nearby (great coffee & pastries) and City Centre is literally a few minutes away. We traveled by train and the property was just a 10 minute walk. We would be happy to return to Aycliffe on a future visit to York.

Short break
Aycliffe cottage was set in a great location for accessing York on foot. It was also a fairly quiet location so had the benefit of proximity to York city centre without the noise. The cottage had a nice feel to it and helpful signs for Wi-Fi, rubbish, oven etc so didn’t have to keep consulting the welcome pack which was good. The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathroom was great. There were 3 toilets in the property, 1 on each floor which was definitely a bonus.
The cottage would have been improved with a better sofa, it was a good couch if you like to sit low to the ground but I have back issues which meant that I couldn’t sit on it. All in all though it was a good value for it’s location.

Lovely town house right in the heart of the city
Stayed with friends for a University reunion. Lovely house with free on street parking (we didn't need it but great if you're visiting by car) only 10 minutes walk from York railway station and less than 5 minutes to the city centre.
Very clean and spacious & the bathroom particularly is very up to date and large with a separate bath and walk in shower.
There are several stays York houses on the same street (look for Buckingham Terrace) so if you have bigger guest numbers it's worth looking for a few of these together rather than having to find a massive place, which can be expensive and often further out of the city.
