In the 1970s, the house was bought by Agostinha da Luz and three generations of this family have grown up there. It was in honour of this matriarch that Casas da Luz was named. Between 2020 and 2023, this space of memories and tradition, made up of the main house and annex buildings, underwent renovation and expansion work, with special care taken to preserve the various elements that characterise traditional Madeiran houses, including the stone walls and the wine press, where wine is still produced every year. Divided into three cosy units, each designed to provide maximum comfort and privacy: the Casa da Mãe, split over two floors, offers three spacious bedrooms; the Casa da Latada located on the upper floor consists of two bedrooms and the Cassa da Pedreira, located on the ground floor, has a large bedroom. Casa da Mãe, the Luz family's refuge for many years, is the perfect accommodation for family get-togethers and unrivalled memories. The accommodation has been refurbished and furnished to an exquisite taste, highlighting its modernity and the maintenance of the excellent materials from its origins. In the entrance hall, you'll be charmed by a large living room that extends into the dining area. You'll also find a spacious and fully equipped kitchen ready to cook all your meals. To support this floor, we have a WC. On the upper floor, all the bedrooms with sea views and private balconies have their own bathrooms and showers.
