Perfect family holiday

Great place in a great location to explore Madeira. We loved the outside space and especially the pool. Thanks to our host as well for some wonderful restaurant recommendations. We loved Leme for its fresh fish and location and the food in sunshine pub and grill was amazing. Highly recommended. We hop to return someday.

Pleasurable perfection!

We had a wonderful time staying at Villa Prazeres. Our host, Catia, was lovely, responsive and so helpful. All her recommendations were top notch! The location was also superb and close to a wonderful local coffee shop, restaurants and beautiful views. The house is so comfortable and clean. The pool was also a nice addition to our stay. We can't wait to return.

Beautiful location - wonderful outdoor space.

Really enjoyed our stay at Catia's villa. Very traditional interior styling that always seemed to keep it cool indoors without A/C or fans. The outdoor cooking and pool area is great and so peaceful. Walking locally is a great way of keeping fit and there are some decent restaurants that are definitely worth a visit. Catia was very easy to deal with and super helpful with providing info on taxis/ restaurants etc. Big thank-you to her friend Maria who picked us up and dropped us off at quite short notice. All in all a fantastic break and highly recommended.

Wonderful Villa and wonderful area

30th July to 11th August 2017. The Hughes family, Wiltshire, England. Catia had a warm welcome for us even though we arrived very late at night as our flight was delayed and she told us all we needed to know. The Villa was fantastic, especially the outside kitchen, shower, WC and the massive pool. The inside of the Villa was also very nice but we hardly ever needed to be inside, except to sleep. Everything was very clean and well maintained. There are several very good restaurants as well as a supermarket within easy walking distance. The surrounding area and scenery is beautiful and very varied. We went walking virtually every day (10 times) and every walk had something new to offer (cliff walks, levada walks, mountain walks, forest walks and even tunnels!!). All this scenery was within easy driving distance and we never had to venture from the west side of the island and didn't even visit Funchal as we had planned. The Whale & Dolphin watching on the boat "Lucky Frankie" at nearby Calhetta was an amazing experience. We recommend the Villa as an idea holiday base.

Recent holiday in prazeres.

Had a very enjoyable break staying at this property. Prazeres is a lovely small village and the vast majority of the people there are very friendly. The property is a traditional cottage but the most used area is the outside kitchen by the pool, which is a good size but unheated. A couple of things needing improving were that the garden loghts could not be used as they had an electrical fault and the pool was not cleaned or checked during our 2 week stay. It is worth noting that prazeres, along with most of madiera, is a hilly country so you need to be mobile to walk about or make sure you hire a car. The house itself has quite steep stairs and steps to the garden so mobility is a requirement. There is an electric hob and gas hob but no oven and one bathroom in the house and another by the pool. This maybe an issue if 4 or 6 people stay. There are a lot of small dogs kept in the village, mostly outside, and there can be a lot of barking early mornings which can be annoying, although you tend to get used to it. Overall we had a lovely time

Un lieu superbe

Une belle maison, idéalement située, dans un endroit très calme. La cuisine d'extérieur très pratique et la grande piscine un vrai régal, pour les petits comme pour les grands. Un grand merci à Catia, pour sa grande gentillesse. Elle nous a merveilleusement bien accueillis, toujours disponible et elle nous a conseillées de très bonnes adresses. (Einigermaßen) renoviertes altes Steinhaus mit einigen Mängeln

Wir waren im Mai 2022 für 2 Wochen in diesem Haus. Der Kontakt zur Vermieterin war ok - die Bilder entsprechen dem aktuellen Aussehen. Warum also nur 3 Sterne? - Bereits beim Einzug wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass weder geputzt wird, noch die Bettwäsche (bei 2 Wochen Aufenthalt auch nicht wirklich notwendig - bei längerem Aufenthalt aber sehr wohl erforderlich) oder die Handtücher gewechselt werden - außer man bezahlt extra! (das haben wir so noch nie erlebt) - Die Küche verdient diese Bezeichnung nicht! Die Spüle ist kaum nutzbar (sehr geringer Wasserdruck und sie liegt im Dunkeln), Geschirr und Besteck sind wild zusammen gewürfelt und alt. Der Kühlschrank (ich schätze mal Baujahr 1950) ist sehr sehr laut (so laut, dass das Einschlafen im 1. OG zum Problem wird). - Im Wohnzimmer sind während der 2 Wochen 3 Holzkeile aus der Decke gefallen - einer davon knallte auf den Esstisch knapp neben das Notebook. - Das Bad im 1. OG hat keine Steckdose, die "Dusche" ist eigentlich nicht benutzbar, da es keinen Duschvorhang gibt und man sich in die Wanne rein knien muss, damit später nicht das ganze Bad unter Wasser steht (sollte doch mal was daneben gehen, tropft es im darunter liegenden Wohnzimmer von der Decke - ist uns einmal passiert und den Flecken an der Decke nach zu schließen war es auch nicht zum ersten Mal). - Der Holzboden im 1. OG ist sehr hellhörig - man hört jeden Schritt (unter Tags kein Problem, aber in der Nacht hört man jeden Gang zur Toilette). - Die Schlafzimmer sind ok, die Betten gut, aber es gibt nur einen kleinen Schrank in einem der Schlafzimmer und im zweiten nur einen Wäscheständer (wie das mit mehr als 2 Personen funktionieren soll ist uns ein Rätsel). - Die Außenküche ist etwas besser, entsprach aber nicht unseren Erwartungen. Der Wind- und Regenschutz ist aus Plastik, teilweise eingerissen und mit Klebeband "repariert". - Das Wohn- / Esszimmer ist soweit gut eingerichtet, aber das komplette EG ist sehr dunkel (man muss eigentlich immer das Licht anhaben). Positiv zu bewerten sind die Einrichtung des Wohnzimmers, die Betten, der Garten und der Pool. Die Außenküche haben wir praktisch nicht genutzt, da wir keine Lust hatten früh morgens hochzulaufen und dort im (fast immer vorhandenen) Wind zu sitzen. Man hat einen schönen Blick in Richtung Berge - das Meer ist nur sehr eingeschränkt sichtbar. Für den aufgerufenen Preis erachten wir dieses Objekt als extrem überteuert. Wir werden definitiv nicht wieder kommen!

This old villa is such a beautiful place to stay. Inside u have everything you need, kitchen, living room with big TV, severel bedrooms and a nice bathroom. Outside in the garden, is a big terrace, with a great kitchen and an ofen, where you can do a bbq. At the terrace is a nice bathroom with a shower. Also in the garden is the big and deep pool. The kind homeowner, thank you Catia, gave us great tips too, where we can go, to have a dinner, or shopping. We really enjoyed it and I would love to spend my time there again ! The pictures of the object doesnt lie :)

Super Haus für den Sommer

Das Haus bietet Platz für 7 Personen u ggf. ein Baby. Es liegt etwas unterhalb der wunderschönen Gartenanlage mit großem Pool und Außenküche. Dort spielt sich auch das Leben ab. Das Innere des Hauses ist wirklich sehr dunkel, aber da wir nur zum schlafen dort waren, hat uns das überhaupt nicht gestört. Die Matratzen der Betten waren gut. Cátia ist sehr hilfsbereit und hilft sofort wenn Probleme auftreten. Die Lage ist gut, selbst auf die entgegengesetzte Seite der Insel braucht mach nur 90 Minuten. Mit 7 Leuteb stimmt das Preis/leistungs-Verhältnis voll und ganz! Wir hatten eine tolle Woche- Thanks

un petit coin de paradis

Une villa avec beaucoup de charme, dans un endroit incroyablement calme et bucolique, une super piscine avec une cuisine d'été attenante toute équipée...un cadre formidable pour résider à Madère et découvrir les charmes de cette ile. Parfaitement au calme, mais proche de tout, idéalement situé pour être à moins d'une heure de quasiment n'importe quel coin de l'ile. Un petit café-boulangerie-épicerie situé à 10 minutes à pied permet d'avoir du délicieux pain frais tous les matins et de se régaler des succulentes oranges et bananes de l'ile. Location idéale pour passer d'excellentes vacances.

Magnifique séjour dans une maison de caractère avec un superbe espace piscine.

Accueil très chaleureux de la part de Catia, la maison en pierre est pleine de charme et décorée avec soin, 2 belles chambres avec une très bonne literie et un grand espace chambre/salon (2 couchages) sous les toits, belle salle de bains. Espace jardin/piscine très bien aménagé avec une terrasse d'été bien équipée et une salle d'eau extérieure (un bonheur pour se détendre en rentrant de randonnées!). Location idéale pour une famille, à proximité de quelques commerces, restaurant, et voie express permettant de sillonner cette belle île de Madère.

Ferien auf dem Lande...

Wunderschönes Anwesen in ländlicher Umgebung. Sehr ruhig (die relativ nahe Schnellstraße ist eigentlich nicht zu hören). Das Haus selbst ist sehr alt und stielgerecht restauriert. Die Sommerküche im Garten mit angeschlossenem Riesenpool (5 x 10 m - 2,40 m tief) macht Laune. In der Küche gibt es alles was das Herz begehrt - einschließlich Duschbad und (landestypisch) Fernseher. Wenn das Wetter mitspielt - was im Südwesten oft der Fall - kann man hier sehr entspannte Ferien verbringen. Vom Standort starten gleich mehrere Wanderungen und auch die Versorgung mit Lebensmitteln und Restaurants ist gesichert. Alles bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Die Vermieterin ist sehr nett und hilft bei Problemen schnell weiter. Alles in allem eine sehr gelungene Mischung.

Im Winter weniger geeignet

Das in Prazeres gelegene Objekt ist ein "etwas" renoviertes, lt. Vermieterin ca. 120 Jahre altes Landhaus. Wir hatten es für 5 Erwachsene vom 22.12.16 bis 3.1.17 gemietet. Die Vermieterin ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit - insoweit ist alles ok. Die Ausstattung entsprach nicht ganz unseren Erwartungen. Im Inneren des Hauses ist es sehr hellhörig, man hat es bei den alten, nicht isolierten Holzböden belassen. Jeder Toilettengang ist z.B. innen überall zu hören. Hinzu kommt die sparsame Beleuchtung, wenige, kl. Fenster bzw. kl. Fenster in den Türen, z.T. nur eine kleine Deckenlampe bzw. Wandlampen im Erdgeschoss brachten kaum Licht in die Mehrzahl der Zimmer, dazu insges. nur zwei Nachttisch- oder Leselampen. Die Räume im Erdgeschoss bleiben auch durch die dunklen Natursteinwände sehr duster. Im Bad war die nostalgische Badewanne praktisch nicht zu nutzen - es blieben die Toilette - ok - und ein zumindest etwas ausgeleuchtetes Waschbecken. Auffällig auch: nur ein Schrank und praktisch keine Ablagemöglichkeiten in den Zimmern - man lebt also aus dem Koffer, die Betten - ältere Modelle, die Matratzen o.k. Dafür hat man im gesamten Anwesen 4 Fernseher... Zur Außenküche: diese ist - auch mit dem Grill - nicht zu beheizen und war morgens bzw. abends bei Temperaturen von um die 10-15 Grad nur mit entsprechend warmer Bekleidung nutzbar. Die Ausstattung ist sehr sparsam. Ein eingebauter, mit Holz oder Holzkohle zu befeuernder Grill und ein Gasherd (altes Modell) mit zwei Flammen, dazu eine Mikrowelle. Ansprechend kochen kann man da nicht - den Herd in der Küche im Haus haben wir allerdings nicht genutzt - lt. Vermieterin wird er auch praktisch nicht genutzt -, weil wir nicht immer hin und her laufen wollten. Geschirr und Besteck mussten wir ständig spülen - es war nur 1x für 6 Personen da. Die Beleuchtung in der Außenküche war wieder sehr sparsam, ein Deckenleuchter über dem Tisch, mehr nicht. Leider war die aus Plastikfolie bestehende Tür nicht richtig verschließbar, so dass der Raum bei heftigem Wind und Regen - das gibt es dort im Winter - auch bei im Übrigen geschlossenen Fronten eher ungemütlich ist. Neben der Küche gab es ein weiteres "Bad": Dusche, Waschbecken und WC, im Grundsatz ok, war aber leider nicht zu beheizen, wenn man vom warmen Wasser absieht. Den Pool im Garten konnten wir bedingt durch die Jahreszeit nicht nutzen - das hatten wir auch nicht erwartet. Insgesamt daher als Unterkunft: im Winter weniger geeignet!

Die Vermieterin war sehr nett und entgegenkommend - Das Haus ist abgelegen ruhig und somit perfekt für einen Urlaub auch mit kleineren Kindern. Die Außenanlage ist schmuck und wir haben dort trotz des Regenwetters eine schöne Zeit verbracht.

Ons verblijf was super alleen het weer viel wat tegen en daardoor was heet water(zonneboiler) soms een probleem ook in het huis was het fris er stond maar 1 elektrisch kacheltje.

Entspannte Zeit

Wir waren in der Zeit vom 27.08 - 10.09.2015 mit unserer 5 Monate alten Tochter auf Madeira und haben dort 2 sehr schöne entspannte verbracht. Wir wurden sehr nett von der Vermieterin empfangen. Das Haus ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und die Fotos entsprechen der Realität. Da das Wetter die 2 Wochen sehr schön war, haben wir das Haus nur zum Schlafen genutzt und die restliche Zeit auf dem großzügigen Grundstück verbracht. Frühstück in der Sonne, Baden in dem schönen, sauberen Pool, Zeit zum entspannen in der Sonne. Die Outdoorküche war super! In der näheren Umgebung kann man alles notwenige besorgen. In der Nähe ist ein Hotel "Jardim Hotel Atlantico" kann man wunderbar essen gehen (Bufett) und wird dort auch sehr sehr freundlich bedient! Prazeres ist ein kleines Örtchen von dem man die Insel super erkunden kann aber auch einfach mal die Seele baumeln lassen kann. Alles in allem: ein wundervoll entspannter Urlaub!!! Wir können das Ferienhaus nur weiterempfehlen an jeden, der abseits von großen Hotels einen wundervoll entspannten Urlaub erleben möchte!
