Centrally located, just off the main historic cobbled street. Shops, pubs, art galleries, restaurants and the famous steps to Whitby Abbey are all on your doorstep - no need to drive. It's also a short walk to the beach which is a typical "Bucket and Spade" type beach, with a Blue Flag award which is widely considered a Gold Standard for Beaches.
The cottage itself is over 200 Years old, with many original features. We have recently restored the cottage sympathetically, adding modern luxury for the comfort of our guests.
Being south facing, the sunlight beautifully shines through the original sash windows at the front of the property, which have been lovingly restored.
Our open plan kitchen / dining area includes all of the necessary amenities if you fancy cooking, and a separate pantry with a fridge, microwave and other appliances.
The living room downstairs is perfect for enjoying evenings and rainy days. There is a comfortable sofa, arm chair and plenty of cushions! There is also a 43inch TV and selection of board games. In this room is also a beautiful fireplace, with an electric fire providing all the atmosphere of a log burner, without the fuss.
The modern and luxurious bathroom features a deep bath with rainfall shower. A de-misting mirror with shaver socket and light which creates mood lighting for a relaxing atmosphere. There is also a large heated towel rail, perfect for drying clothes after a day at the beach.
The cottage itself lies in a quiet yard, set back from the main street but central to all local amenities. This means it's the perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day exploring.
Bedroom 1 has an original fireplace with a Super King size bed & built in wardrobe. This can also be separated into two single beds if required. Please let us know on booking if you would like twin beds. A chair and mirror also allow you to relax and get ready to enjoy the day, or an evening in Whitby.
Bedroom 2 has a King Size bed with two Neoclassical arches either side of the room. One arch is a wardrobe with space for luggage underneath, the other is a dressing table.
Bedroom 3 is a small Single bedroom with full size adult single bed.
