The property has tons of character and space. It is also very functional with everything you need. The walk into Keswick is short and flat and there are 2 parking bays which is great when parking in town is so expensive now. They are reopening the restaurant underneath so that’ll be different next time. Pros and cons. Would definitely stay again and would definitely recommend. A space like no other and great to keep everyone together.

Hi there!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the character and space the property offers. It’s great to know that, alongside its unique charm, you found it practical and well equipped with everything you needed for your stay.
We’re pleased the easy, level walk into Keswick worked well for you, and we couldn't agree more that having two dedicated parking spaces is a real bonus, especially with parking becoming increasingly limited and expensive in town.
Thank you as well for mentioning the restaurant below. As you say, that will certainly make for a slightly different experience next time, and we appreciate your balanced view of the potential pros and cons.
"A space like no other" is such a lovely description, and we’re thrilled to hear it provided a great place for everyone to spend time together.
Thank you again for your kind recommendation. We’d be absolutely delighted to welcome you back again in the future.
Best wishes,

There are lots of walks you can do right from the doorstep and the bus stop is only a 5 minute walk away if you want to travel further afield with the hassle of taking your car. Lovely Property, great location!
Greta Howe is a lovely property in a perfect location. Just a small tip for future guests, I’d avoid putting the washing machine on before bed, as when it goes into the spin cycle the vibrations travel through the property and can wake you up.
We’d definitely consider booking again. The staff at Keswick Cottages were superb as well, I phoned them twice before our visit and they were really helpful both times. Thankyou.

Loved it!!
Much bigger than it looked in photos, this was the best place we have stayed in Keswick! We stayed here while working at the Mountain Festival but can't wait to come back again with the family for a non working holiday. The accommodation had so much space, we loved staying here and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying in Keswick.

Really lovely place
The flat was really stunning - very different, and everything was excellent quality. Great location if you want to be in the centre but with views - quite a rare thing especially given the cost. There is a lot of history as it was 'Keswick School of Industrial Art" and if you google that you get an excellent photo of what the room looked like 100 years ago.

Thank you so much for your 5-star review! We are so happy you found it to a high standard and beautiful. We agree that the views are lovely and Greta Howe is situated perfectly to explore Keswick. It was formerly the Keswick School Of Industrial Art that was opened in 1894 by Canon Rawnsley, one of the founders of the National Trust and which led the way in the Arts and Crafts movement. Fascinating history! We hope you had an amazing time and we hope to welcome you back again. Best Wishes, Keswick Cottages

Greta Howe
Greta Howe was clean, well decorated and everything worked. It is just 5 minutes from the supermarkets, pubs and restaurants and the bus station which is very useful for us as we only travel around the Lake District by bus. The secondary glazing eliminates the road traffic noise. Views of Latrig and Skiddaw from the balcony. Highly recommended.

Great base with luxury feel
I stayed midweek in November for three nights with a Friend. I chose the location in case the weather came in as it was near main roads. The communication was brilliant but we were left alone to enjoy our stay in peace. The place is very well done, and comfortable. Although there were only two of us, it would be big enough for 6 without being on top of each other. The gas fire was very welcomed after a day out on the fells. We were lucky that we have snow up on skiddaw which you can walk to from the door, and catbells too. Would definitely stay again, as it was so clean and homely. If I had to be picky the large bedroom was chilly compared to the rest of the place but I left the door open to the main area to get some heat in there, but that is only to be real picky, it’s still a 10/10

Wow! What a beautiful surprise!
We had an amazing stay at Greta Howe, the space is enormous but so cozy and unique, full of charm and all modernised. We loved the space! The underfloor heating in the bathroom was a luxury. Communication was easy for all our stay and we were welcomed by a bottle of fizz and biscuits. We had a couple of rainy days so we enjoyed the space and cooked in the bespoke kitchen. We had a great time and we would love to come back soon, thank you so much for having us on such a short notice!

Great Property
We had a lovely stay in this holiday property. It was very spacious, had great facilities, and having the town within a few minutes walking distance was perfect. It would have been helpful to have some instructions on how to use the gas fire, as that wasn't included on the tablet. Also, when we arrived, I think the heating had only just been turned on as it was quite chilly and took a while to heat up as the room is very large. I would definitely book again if we were in this area.

Great property and location
Great property to stay in and lovely views of the hills. Very comfortable and spacious with everything you need. I had brought some "extras" - like hairdryer and kitchen equipment going by previous reviews but didn't need to as owners had obviously read and responded to previous comments. We are regular visitors to Keswick so knew location (2 min walk to start of shops etc) - which was perfect as other family were with us. The grandkids loved going down to mess about at the river - supervised of course! The cafe below was currently closed so had place to ourselves. Could do with some better seating on the balcony (we brought some ourselves). Highly recommend this property. Would visit it again.
