The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates

Fantastic getaway!

The cottage was lovely and although it looked small from the outside it was surprisingly big inside, it had everything we needed for an amazing break and i would visit again in a heartbeat!

Another Lovely Stay At Ways End

We love this house and the location is fabulous for wondering around Stow and have days trips out to visit some local places of interest. The garden furniture had been replaced and it was a little disappointing to see all of the large cardboard boxes by the bins for the whole of our stay. Also there was an issue with the door of one of the upstairs bedrooms which eventually came off its top hinges. The potentially could have caused a nasty accident but luckily it was all fine. I reported it so I imagine it has now been fixed. These really were very minor issues, we have a fabulous time and hope to return. I would recommend a meal at The Old Butchers, it’s not cheap but the food was amazing and the staff were brilliant!

Perfect location & super comfortable - an ideal spot for a trip to Stow.

When staying in Stow you couldn’t ask for a better location - just off the Main Street, everything is within walking distance and its nice and quiet come the evening. The properly itself was comfortable, was perfectly clean and tidy and had a great enclosed garden that was perfect for letting out my dogs. I’d definitely come again!

Amazing location

Cosy and in a great location. Fairly recently renovated but needs a good, deep clean. The bedding and towels were clean though, and the beds very comfy! The log burner was a lovely addition and so was the little Christmas tree :)

A great location

Very good small house, 5 minutes walk from the centre of Stow, warm and comfortable. But please could there be a welcome house book! I've never worked digital central heating before, simple when you know how, couldn't work it out for first few very cold hours, plus had to call the house manager to locate the wifi code. What would be the number for a doctor in an emergency? When to put the bins out? These are things that would be so easy to let the house guest know. The scanned information gives none of them. Plus don't visit in the week which contains the 2nd Thursday in May, as we did. Stow horse fair means every single pub closes for 5 days. Having said all of that, we had a great stay, and once we'd got past the frustrations of no heat and no pubs, the house itself is compact and comfortable, and has a brilliant location. Thank you.

Lovely cottage within easy walking distance of Stow on the Wold. Ideal for our party of 3 adults and 2 dogs. It would be useful to have details of the waste/recycling requirements as not all areas are the same.

Great cottage in a great location

We loved our stay at this cottage. Perfect size for our family of four with three great sized bedrooms. The only thing I’d change is the back garden space as this didn’t feel an inviting space to sit in. Location is perfect, with the cottage situated 2minutes walk from the main high street. Plenty of fab places to eat or drink.

A Beautiful Cottage in a lovely location

A beautiful Cottage which had all we needed in a perfect location. The house was mostly clean and spotless ,however there were a lot of black dog hairs on the sofa which was not good for the 8month old baby, also it was hot weather and the upstairs of the house got very hot so might be worth providing a fan. Otherwise very good and we all enjoyed our stay Thankyou

We had such a lovely time at Ways end. The house was well equipped for everything we needed and the beds were super comfy! Great location to stay and explore the Cotswolds, Stow town was just around the corner from the property and took about a 5 min walk. There is a Tesco which is handy and in walking distance. Quality accommodation in great location

On arrival found everything was spotless. The property is well maintained with everything you need and just around 7 minutes walk from the main square. The eggs, milk, biscuits, and cleaning pack were all thoughtful touches. We also appreciated the courtesy text contact from the StayCotswold representative during our stay.

Ways End - a good choice and a fantastic location.

This was our first time in the Cotswolds and Ways End cottage is in a fantastic location behind the main centre of Stow on the Wold. It's a very comfortable little house with almost everything you need for a short holiday. The only criticism I could have is that there is no washing machine or bath. The water pressure in the shower isn't great but overall the cottage is very well appointed and our poodles loved the secure garden. The house is very clean also and the property manager is on call if needed.

This cottage is in a fantastic position only minutes away from the centre of Stow in the Wold. The beds were very comfortable and the property was well equipped. Fantastic Base to Explore The Cotswolds

Ways End is a lovely house in a nice quiet location in Stow on the Wold. The house is clean and comfortable, with a great size outside space that gets the sun pretty much all day! Stow is a perfect base to explore the Cotswold. We visited Sezincote House, Sudeley Castle, Batsford Arboretum and the Cotswold wildlife park and had a fabulous time at all of them. The only slight negative was that that it was the Stow Horse Fair the week of our stay which meant that a lot of the local pubs and restaurants were closed due to the visiting gypsies. I didn’t even know this was an event, but it really didn’t impact our stay.

A perfect location!

Cottage is in a great location, just a very short walk from the shops etc. The garden is secure for dogs, and there are plenty of dog walks nearby. The beds are supreme - so comfortable, a good nights sleep was guaranteed. The cottage is nearly fitted out, and it shows. There was a lovely welcome pack - eggs, milk, biscuits etc, which was a great touch. Stay Cotswold were very friendly and professional, and so, yes, I'd definitely recommend.

A lovely stay at ways end

We stayed as 4 adults at ways end and had a nice time with some minor hiccups. The property seems newly renovated and is a great location walking distance into stow on the wold. Beds were super comfy although the bathroom is quite small and I would think this property was more suited to 2 adults and children as space is a little limited. The welcome bread and eggs was a nice touch however the properly just lacked basic items when you book to stay somewhere. For example no shower gels/ hair wash in bathroom & basic items were missing such as a hairdryer, iron and fire lighter to get the fire going however once I contacted the host they did come to provide these. A lovely stay but needs some minor holiday let attention to detail touches adding.

Great location but....

The location was perfect. The beds and sofa were very, very comfortable. But, the property needs maintenance. All the blinds were covered with dust. The hoover didn't work as hoover bag full but no replacement could be found. I had to manually pull out all debris from existing bag in order to be able to hoover up (we have a dog so this needed to be done daily). Boiler lost pressure so no hot water until we got that sorted. No "guide book" of the property was supplied with helpful info eg what goes in which bins, when collection day was, useful phone numbers etc etc. There were marks all over skirting boards and cracks in walls/ceilings which just made house feel unloved. The bbq was nit fit for pupose, covered in rust (we had taken our own). The garden furniture was tired and the garden itself needed tending. Kitchen was lovely (shame no washing machine as then it would have been perfect) and the tv was great too.

A pleasant cottage in a perfect location.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Ways end. The location is just perfect as it’s on a nice quiet estate with just a short walk into the centre of the town. The cottage itself was nicely decorated with some lovely touches, fresh sourdough bread, butter and eggs. There is a nice big porch area for dirty boots and coats after amazing walks. The beds are very comfy as are the pillows. A few negative points: No bin in the bathroom (which is downstairs) or the bedrooms which I feel is a necessity. No hairdryer provided either ☹️ the one time I didn’t take one as they are usually provided!!!! There’s no washing machine, which wasn’t an issue for us, but if we were staying longer or had young children we may have appreciated one. Only one bedside lamp in the bedrooms, I feel there should be one each side of a double bed. Overall we had a much needed enjoyable stay and would definitely come back and stay here again. A hot tub in the garden would have been the icing on the cake!!
