Good location

Close to centre of Llanberis. Cleanliness of bathroom poor and yard a real mess. Bed small and very soft. Sofa good. Nice kitchen but short on basic equipment.

Beautiful and charming cottage

The cottage is beautiful and charming, full of character. Well equipped with kitchen and dining wares. Tea and coffee was much appreciated. Personally, I would put the dining table in the kitchen and put another little sofa in the living room. The outside courtyard needs tidying up, couple of mops were left outside in the rain, seating cushions also left out in the rain, which meant that when it warmed up at the weekend, they were too wet to sit on them, a little outside cupboard to store them in when not in use would be great, overgrown brambles in front of the gate and in the courtyard. One and a half rolls of really cheap loo roll is not enough for two adults, better quality loo roll would have been better too. Instructions on how to work the central heating system would have been great, I rang to ask how to turn it on as the controller near the front door didn't work, apparently this was the old controller and the new one was near the TV. When I rang back to say that we have sorted it, the lady said that the plumber claims he left the instructions in the folder, I had checked the folder before ringing - there was no instructions. The carbon monoxide detector constantly beeped and we couldn't find new batteries so we took the old ones out. I would also put some hooks under the stairs to hang the mop and brush to make it look a bit more tidy. It is a really lovely cottage and a much welcomed bolt hole to come back to and relax in after hiking Snowdon on a very stormy Saturday morning.

Nice place, but some of the basics were missing

The property manager was responsive and kind when we could not get the key out of the security box. The cottage was a wonderful old place and was very comfortable in most respects. Great location for visiting every direction of Snowdonia. Missing were some basic necessities that surprised us: no dish soap (of any kind), and no sugar or pepper in the kitchen. There was only a French press coffee pot, which was fine, but it was missing a part, so the press didn't work. These didn't ruin our stay, but they stood out from other experiences we've had with VRBO.

4/10 Poor

Good location and helpful hosts but sadly the place was run down and not clean

The place felt unloved and unclean. It felt very ‘doggy’ and dusty downstairs. The rug in the living room looked dirty. There was dog food on the floor and hairs on the sofa. Quite a lot of the kitchen utensils were dirty. The shower was not clean with hairs and gunk and it did not drain properly. The loo seat was broken too. The lights did not work properly either (kept flickering). There was no loo roll or washing up liquid when we arrived which wasn’t a big issue but was disappointing (have normally had this provided when staying in a self catered place). The hosts were helpful and communicative and the location was excellent but overall was let down by the cleanliness and condition of the place.
