About this property

York Beach Walk to Short Sands and York's Wild Kingdom

Great cottage on a quiet dead end road, located between Short Sands and the Nubble Light. Five minute walk to Short Sands one way and Brown's ice cream the other! First floor has living room, dining room, sun room, kitchen, bathroom with tub/shower and laundry room with full size washer and dryer. There is a small porch off the back great for morning coffee in the sun! Upstairs has two bedrooms.

Large private yard, most of it on the side of the cottage; with enough room for a family cookout (gas grill in the back yard) and parking for 3 cars.

There's a gas heater on the main level for those chilly off season nights.

The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc. We provide blankets and pillows but you **MUST BRING YOUR OWN BED LINENS AND BATH TOWELS**

Beautiful Area

The area was beautiful and house was perfect for what we needed it for. Didn’t get to enjoy the area as much as we wanted since we were part of a softball tournament. But the over house is very nice and area is just beautiful!

Houston extended family 1st visit to Nubble Light

Booked this for my uncle and his daughter and 2 children ages 11 and 14 for two nights. They loved it, went to Nubble, Short Sands beach, Lobster Cove and a good time was had by all. I'd recommend this cottage it was clean, and location was stellar. Loved the little back patio with its gas fire pit, we made s'mores with the kids...

Love this cottage!

We’ve stayed in York Beach area before but this cottage was perfect for hanging out with family, either in the main living area, the porch or the lovely back patio. The ground were beautiful. We would definitely stay here again.

Girls weekend

The house was amazing. Very clean and spacious. Outside sitting with firepit (propane). Just perfect for us. Walking distance to Short Sands. Communication was very good.

Last Minute Deal

This was a last minute trip to celebrate the end of summer and my husband's birthday. The house is in a great location, has a lot of character and was very clean. It had everything we needed to make us feel right at home. Great find.

Lovely place to spend our week in York!

We had an amazing time this year. This was our first time staying here and I can’t wait to return. From the location, to the overall condition of the property- as well as the amenities included, we had a wonderful experience. It felt like a home away from home. The owners were down to earth and very responsive. I could not express just how pleased my family and I were to have spent our highly anticipated week in York this year. Family vacation

We can’t say enough good things about our stay! The house was super super clean, and had everything we could have imagined. Beautiful front and back porches, great for coffee in the mornings! Amazing patio with a fire pit and grill. The location to the beach was perfect, short 8 min walk to short sands, and a 5 min drive to long sands. Sue was incredible to deal and very responsive. Can’t wait to return! Would highly recommend this place!!

Wonderful time

We have stayed in many laces in York. This by far suites our needs and fulfilled our expectations completely. Clean beyond clean, comfortable with yard for cornhole badminton etc. hopefully we will be able to stay here again next year. Thank you. EBBIGHAUSEN/Leonard families

Perfect Sisters weekend

The cottage was quintessential New England. I wasn’t surprised to hear the history; the pictures on the walls, furnishings and everything radiated family and past gatherings. There was everything we needed to serve food, extra blankets to snuggle with and the fire pit was also fun to gather around in the evening. The gas heater also took off the chill! What a wonderful neighborhood, great places to walk and eat. Sue was very responsive, got back to us quickly with any questions, and was extra flexible. We hope to return soon!

Charming Get Away

This was a last minute getaway for our family. It was our first time staying at York, Beach. The house is exactly what you want during a Maine vacation. It is charming and comfortable. The house had everything you could ever think of for a beach vacation. The owner is lovely and helpful. The next door neighbor is kind and welcoming! I can not say enough about how charming this home is. We had an amazing vacation. When the days are packed with action, it was so nice to come back to a little story book cottage. Thank you so much! Relaxed, comfortable, and happy

We cannot thank Sue and her family enough for sharing their beach cottage with us. The house was comfortable, clean, and stocked with everything you need for a week away in Maine (including lobster pots and gear!) The breezy back porch and front deck were spacious and great for late night sitting. Our two young boys absolutely loved running around the large side yard all week. Although very warm during the day with no AC, Sue and family provided many a window and floor fan to keep us cool...and the ocean breeze provided the coolest, sweater weather each night which made for easy summer sleeping. Our favorite part of all was loading up each morning and taking the sunny, scenic walk less than 10 mins down to Short Sands beach and spending the day playing in the sand and waves. We loved every minute our trip and hope to return some day!

Perfect Cottage 1/4 mile Walk To Short Sands Beach!

An entire house to yourself on a private, dead -end road, less than a 10 minute walk to Short Sands Beach, and a 15 minute walk to Nubble Light House (where you can also get an amazing dinner, drinks, and ice cream for your efforts!) House has comfortable furniture, lawn parking, and owners provide ALL essentials from a full-sized stackable washer/dryer, full-sized fridge/freezer, to a propane grill, fire pit, grilling tools, s’mores sticks, microwave, coffee maker, and everything in between, needed to comfortably enjoy a beach vacation WITH kids! All other essential amenities provided—in case you’ve forgotten to bring something—including beach chairs and a wagon/cart! House is laid out to provide spaces for individuals, small, and large groups to gather—Sun porch, with queen futon, 2 bedrooms (sleeps 8 adults total) covered front and back porches, patio, a large grassy side yard! Everyone has their own space—helpful at times! Owners were super easy to reach/communicate with, instructions clearly laid out, and BEST OF ALL…having an outside shower with HOT WATER! ( as of now it’s not enclosed, but it’s near the back patio—and in bathing suits, or a little creativity on your part, there can be plenty of privacy! We will definitely try to book this home again for future vacations—If a clean, comfortable, and conveniently located family rental home are what you’re looking for, I highly recommend this one!

Fantastic stay!

Nestled— like a quiet oasis on a dead end street— this lovely seacoast property was a perfect getaway for our ever-growing family. Inside this bilevel home, all the living spaces had a cozy eclectic feel. The first floor contained the main family areas with sun room, living room, dining room, well-stocked kitchen, full bath & laundry units. Then located upstairs were two good sized bedrooms—one with a queen sized bed; the other had 3 beds-a double and two twins. Outdoor living spaces included: a back porch where we savored an early morning cup of coffee; the lilac-lined side yard with a large grassy play area; and a rear patio where we enjoyed an evening cookout. We took daily advantage of the short 10 min walk to Short Sands beach 🏖. We also had a picnic lunch at the Nubble Lighthouse (3/4 mile away) and enjoyed an ice cream 🍨 treat from Dunnes (1/2 mile away). Lastly, we want to shout out to our gracious hosts—who were welcoming, easy to reach and very responsive. Thankyou Sue and Glenn—we are looking forward to visiting again!
