Wonderful cabin getaway!
Lovely quaint cabin outside of Asheville. Modern touches and amenities with a rustic feel. A great place to go and relax! We’ll be back!
Had a wonderful time in this little cabin, enjoyed the hot tub but really enjoyed the porch with wood burning fireplace (they even supplied a little s’more package). It was close to downtown Asheville, Biltmore and parks! Will definitely recommend to my friends and would love to come stay again!

We had such a wonderful weekend in Asheville! This cabin offers everything you want from a mountain getaway and is close to all of the wonderful restaurants and breweries Asheville has to offer. We have two young children who loved the loft and all of the outdoor living perks!

Perfect Girls Weekend Getaway
What a wonderful visit we had in this cabin! There are so many thoughtful details like coffee, ingredients for s’mores, and firewood for the fireplace! We were there for a girls weekend and had plenty of space - very comfortable! I look forward to coming here in the future!

Wonderful, secluded cabin!
Fantastic properly all around! We spent two nights here while spending time in Asheville. The sound of the rushing creek behind the cabin was incredibly relaxing. Every amenity in the cabin was in perfect order, including the impressively fast internet. If you want a relaxing, private stay in the woods of North Asheville, this is your place!

This cabin was perfect for our girls getaway!
Mae and Nick were great! Your house is beautiful and you have everything we would need there! The hot tub and the outside deck with fireplace were our favorite places to relax. We could have sat on the deck with our coffee forever. The cabin fit four girls perfectly and was everything we needed. We can’t wait to come again soon!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved cozying up in the jacuzzi and then drying off by the fire on the deck. Listening to the nearby creek was so soothing. The property was exactly as pictured and I loved the additional s’mores for two “kit” the host provided.
On our morning out it started to rain and the sound on the tin roof was amazing.
I will definitely book again!
We enjoyed our stay in April of 2023. Kids played on the swing and hammock. Loved the hot tub, fire pit and eating outside on the deck. Inside the beds were clean and comfortable and kids loved the loft. We used the refrigerator, freezer and oven. Everything worked as it should. We will look at this location again when we come back.

Cozy spot with amazing outdoor living space!
Great cozy place for a couple's retreat! Extra room for kiddos too in the loft... if you want... The outdoor living area is so cozy. Private hot tub was enjoyed every morning we stayed, and we met some turkeys. Super easy to get into Asheville, only 15 mins and you're parked downtown. Proximity to Blue Ridge Parkway, super plus plus! Great value, rent both units if you have friends or family coming and take over the whole spot!

Wonderful family getaway!
We had a great time at the cabin! We have an 8 and 11 year old and the kids absolutely loved it and even said it was better than Disney! It was nice to do something other than the beach or Disney. The kids loved the loft area, the creek and the swing on the property. The hot tub was awesome -- we used it every day! You really feel like you are in the middle of nowhere (in a good way) but only a short drive to Asheville and the other towns around. We did take an Uber the first night and that was pretty easy. We used the fireplace on the porch as well as the fire pit in the back. We did manage to watch a little bit of TV so it was nice to have that option. I brought our own shampoo and hairdryer however the owners had both available and better than mine! The washing machine was a huge bonus. The beds were really comfortable. I never had a bad night of sleep! I really appreciate the nice touches added and it was just a really nice getaway! Thank you so much!
Enjoyed every second of the cabin and it’s property. Stunning views and perfect place to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature.
The outdoor space is my favorite. Sitting by the fire with the October chill was just what we needed. Thank you for having such a beautiful place and we look forward to booking again for next year.
This is a lovely cabin to stay at. The inside area was a bit tight for our family of 4 + a dog but once you consider the outside space it was perfect. The fire pit on the porch made it the place to relax after hiking the close warren Wilson trails. The arboretum and Biltmore were easily accessible and not that far of a drive from this cabin. I’d stay at this cabin again
This cabin is great and the hosts were very clear about all the details. It's also comfortable for those of us that aren't campers. Plenty of clean towels, a great shower and cozy beds are pretty basic, but to me very important. Sadly we were just there for one night and stopping through, so didn't have time to enjoy a fire, but will definitely come back when we have more time to relax and enjoy!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying at this little house in the woods. The outdoor space, complete with fireplace and hot tub, were perfect to enjoy after a day of hiking!

About the host
Hosted by Mae
Modcabins is a family owned business. We designed and built rustic modern cabins just 7 miles from downtown Asheville. We are passionate about the tiny house movement, a cultural shift to live a more self-sufficient, environmentally friendly and financially secure life. We love hosting visitors to our little cabins in this beautiful mountain setting. We recognize that on average, our guests have only a few weeks of vacation time each year. Therefore we spoil our guests with a relaxing and luxurious experience that allows guests to reconnect with nature and loved ones, and feel restored and when returning home.
Why they chose this property
I am an Appalachian native, and love being a part of our mountain community. We chose this property because it is located conveniently only 7 miles to downtown Asheville, 4 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 1 mile from dozens of hiking trails in the Pisgah National Forest. The property also borders the beautiful Shope Creek, with mountain and forest views.
