Criss Cross Cottage is a quirky historical home located in the heart of Inverness city centre. Just steps from the castle and the River Ness, this unique retreat blends country cottage charm with gothic, and fairy themes. Featuring comfortable seating and a quaint garden, it’s perfect for relaxing after exploring the local attractions.
Criss Cross Cottage is not your typical holiday home. This period residence bursts with unique style. Upon entry, you'll be struck by quirky beams and chequered flooring. There is a good-sized living room with comfortable seating and a smart TV. This room is opposite a striking dining room. Also on the ground floor is a fully equipped, quirky kitchen with a patio door providing access to a beautiful courtyard garden. Note that there are stairs in the garden, making it unsuitable for small children. The ground floor is completed by a W/C.
On the first floor, we offer three bedrooms, each with its own sink. The master bedroom has a comfortable double bed (UK size, 135cm x 190cm) and an additional single bed (UK size, 90cm x 190cm). There is a small single bedroom and a further large twin bedroom (two single beds - UK size, 90cm x 190cm). Each room provides ample clothes storage. Additionally, there is a bathroom with a separate shower.
Parking is available; we provide a parking pass for free on street parking for one vehicle.
At Ness Holiday Homes, we take pride in offering exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well-equipped homes. Whether you’re visiting Inverness for a short break or a longer stay, we’re dedicated to ensuring your experience is just as you need it to be. To make your arrival as welcoming as possible, we’ll have the heating and lights on, so you can settle in right away. We’ll also provide a local guidebook with recommendations to help you make the most of your time here. If you have any questions or need assistance during your stay, I’d love to help!
We are excited to share the charm and character of this unique space with you. As with many older homes, there are some elements that might not be as polished or function as smoothly as in a modern house. We appreciate your understanding and patience with any quirks you may encounter during your stay.
This property is centrally located. With this central location comes the normal background sounds of an active city, particularly during peak times.
The washing machine and tumble dryer are in the shed in the back garden.

We had a wonderful stay. The house is amazing with lots of character! Very comfortable and roomy. Great location to town. We walked everywhere in town. Some street noise, other than that, a wonderful place to stay!
