A very well laid out spacious bungalow, all modern build from full renovation September 2013. St Mary's Bay beach is a minute walk from the door and there are plenty of local attractions/activities. Littlestone golf course is approximately just over a mile away.

The property boasts three large bedrooms, two en-suite and a separate toilet/shower room. There are two living areas, with the main room opening into a lovely secluded garden space. The large sitting room is comfortably furnished, with Sky TV, DVD and stereo system, and the second sitting room has another large flat screen TV. This property is perfect for couples, families and large parties alike.

From the moment you step inside Ypsilanti bungalow and are greeted by the impressive modern spacious feel, you will not want to leave.

There are a number of places to go e.g. 'The Pilot Inn' at Dungeness, acclaimed in 'Time Out' magazine and 'The Good Pub Guide'. If you want something more up-market, the Mermaid Inn at Rye, dating from 1156, has an award winning restaurant situated in a romantic setting. For your self-catering needs, there is a large Sainsburys in New Romney and also a butcher, selling locally produced organic meat. The town of New Romney also boasts an excellent delicatessen, and several good tea and coffee shops. A permanent farmers market is near Burmarsh. Appledore is a short drive and a recommended visit for a beautiful location.

Ideas for days out - Hythe is an attractive, Cinque Port town with small shops, antique shops and an antiques market every Friday and Saturday, also boating and fishing along the Royal Military canal. Rye is a medieval town with picturesque cobbled streets ('Hornblower' was filmed at that location), unusual shops selling artwork, antiques and collectibles. Dymchurch is a traditional seaside town with sandy beaches, fun fair, pubs, shops, cafes, and is home of Russell Thorndyke's 'Smuggling Vicar, Dr Syn.

If you wish to go to France for the day, 'le shuttle' will whisk you to Calais from Folkestone in less than an hour, or you can take a 30 minute flight to Le Touquet from nearby Lydd airport.

If you enjoy visiting historical castles, or houses and beautiful gardens, there are several within easy reach of New Romney, including Smallhythe Place, Sissinghurst (gardens designed by Vita Sackville-West), and Dover Castle with its secret wartime tunnels.

Fabulous stay

Had a great time. 4 adults, 1 child & 1 dog! Property is very spacious with 3 big bedrooms & 3 bathrooms. Plenty of living space (2 living rooms) & nice garden too. Local beach is lovely and great places to visit with a short drive or using regular bus service. Would def recommend this property and discovering beautiful local areas

An amazing weekend stay

The bungalow was actually larger than what the photos show and furniture has been up-dated, very well equipped and having 3 bathrooms was a bonus!! We was very lucky with the weather this October. We spent our days in Dungeness, Dymchurch, Hastings and on St. Mary’s Bay beach with the dogs which was across the road. Turn left and Tescos is up the road and turn right towards New Romney and there is Sainsbury’s. Would definitely love to stay here again.

Web page should be updated as property boasts barbecue, there is a rusty one on patio. We reported leak under sink and was told owner knew about this but we should use dishwasher. Of the 3 showers we ended up with just one to use and there were 7 of us. One had black mould and the other one was not working.Property is overpriced.

Fantastic family vacation

We recently had the pleasure of spending a few days at a charming bungalow on the beach in Dymchurch, and it was everything we could have hoped for in a staycation. The location was unbeatable—just steps away from the sandy shores, which provided the perfect backdrop for leisurely walks and stunning sunsets. Our little one was absolutely thrilled with the nearby funfair, which added a touch of excitement to our days. The highlight for our family was undoubtedly the delightful little train ride—a nostalgic experience that brought so much joy to both kids and adults alike. The bungalow itself was well-equipped with all the amenities we could need, making our stay comfortable and stress-free. We truly felt at home and loved every moment spent there. The combination of the beautiful location, the fun activities, and the cosy accommodation made for an unforgettable getaway. We left with great memories and a desire to return to this lovely spot on the Kent coast. Highly recommended for families looking for a relaxing and enjoyable seaside escape!

Superb spacious well equipped bungalow to rent. Great location.

This is a superb bungalow to stay in. It is even better than the photographs. Alex says he tries to provide a home from home experience, and it really is. The place is spacious and exceedingly well equipped. In the large utility room which includes the washing machine and dryer it also has beach towels, umbrellas, buckets and spades etc. Everything you need to play on the lovely beach which is just across the road. The two sitting rooms/TVs are useful, the kitchen is very organised and well equipped. The bedrooms are a good size, TVs in each room, comfortable with plenty of storage and each of the three bathrooms are beautifully tiled, finished, well equipped and function. What more could you ask for from a holiday rental. Yes, it is also very clean, comfortable with very good Wifi. The garden was safe and fun for the kids/adults to play in. We had everything we needed, including rubbish and recycling bags. As Alex says it has been a well looked after family home for generations and it feels it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely not only recommend this place but also will consider coming back. It is one of the best holiday rentals I have ever stayed in. It is close to many different types of holiday beaches, amusement parks, petting farms, wildlife parks. There is either masses to do or if the weather is kind one can just play on the beach. Alex could not be more helpful. We highly recommend this place.

Schönes Haus mit Mängeln

Das Haus ist super schön und hervorragend für sechs Personen geeignet. Die Aufteilung und großzügige zugeschnittenen Zimmern lassen keine Wünsche offen. Garten und Stellplatz sind großzügig gestaltet. Die Sauberkeit läßt sehr zu wünschen übrig. Zwei Scheiben sind blind. Leider tropfte die Dusche und es konnte in angemessenem Zeitraum auch nicht repariert werden. Der Weg zum Strand ist fünf Minuten kurz und menschenleer. Im Halbstundentakt fährt eine Buslinie nach Folkstone (1Std.) und Dover (1,5Std.). Einkaufsmöglichkeit in fünf Minuten erreichbar. Eine historiche Kohle Eisenbahn bringt einen in einer Stunde zu einem Kernkraftwerk!!!

Nice location opposite the beach, with local shops nearby and lovely restaurants (The Ship Inn and Diamond BBQ Turkish) close by. My wife is a wheelchair user and the property was spacious, although the design of the shower meant she couldn't access it. However, the standard of cleanliness was pretty low, we had to clean the fridge out when we arrived and everywhere was a bit grubby, and the bedding smelt stale. We also had to buy pillows as the ones provided were so uncomfortable The broken blind in the spare bedroom was just propped in the cupboard, and the hot water in the shower and radiator in the family bathroom didn't work, this should all have been checked before we arrived. There are also multiple potholes in the access road. Overall, if the place had a proper clean I would recommend it, although expensive for what it is, but not as it is now.

A great base to explore the area

The property is very spacious and nicely decorated, just needs a bit more seating in the main room to be able to sit together in the evenings. Having said that, we just moved a chair from the lobby area to use. It’s a great base for exploring the surrounding areas, Hastings, Rye, Dimchurch, Hythe, Camber Sands etc. We were lucky enough to have glorious weather in early September, so the bar-b-q, table and chairs in the garden was a bonus. A very enjoyable break for the adults and a great adventure for the two dogs.

Great bungalow let down by cleanliness

Nice bungalow, we hired for a family of 6 and found the layout really good and was an affordable alternative to staying in a hotel. Garden handy although we didn’t use, parking good too! The cleanliness however really let the place down. Long-standing dirt and dust on floors, skirting boards, doors and windows. Thick cobwebs, Mouldy shower head, old bars of soap left in the bathroom, hairs. It seems the hosts cleaners have let him down, hopefully he will rectify for future bookings.

Home Coming

Delighted to find a property in the village where I grew up during WW2 to introduce my family to my roots....however it did not entirely live up to expectations ....the dishwasher was faulty, the wine cooler did not work, the third bedroom could do with a chest of drawers......and a bedside lamp...possibly wall mounted.....and only 3 wine glasses.....no tumblers.....etc etc ....I know it is the end of the season, but that is not good enough.

An ideal bungalow to cater for the elderly.

A very spacious bungalow which was very comfortable and well equipped. Only one downside was the very poor condition of the private access road as my very elderly father did not appreciate the uncomfortable ride in and out.

We had a wonderful stay in this property. The place was clean and nicely decorated, with everything we needed on hand (even buckets and spades, despite the cold weather!). The house was very spacious. We could not have asked for a better accommodation. Our eldest child has autism and everything was extremely secure for him also.

My wife and I have just spent a week here with our Daughter, Son-in-Law and 2 grandchildren. The property was clean, spacious and well equipped for a family holiday, with good sized garden for the children to run about. Close to the beach and a short drive to Dymchurch, with children's entertainments and shops. Handy Local shops, Pub and RH & DR station at St. Mary Bay all within walking distance.
