With the River Tweed flowing just a mile from the door, The Mill House is perfectly positioned for those looking to fish the renowned salmon pools of Makerstoun or other prime middle Tweed beats. Its peaceful rural setting makes it an ideal retreat for anglers, walkers, and nature lovers alike. The Mill House welcomes up to two well behaved dogs during your stay.
Inside, the sitting room exudes effortless style and warmth. Flooded with natural light from windows on every side overlooking the pretty cottage garden and mill stream below, the space combines plush carpeting, cosy sofas, promising a truly relaxing holiday stay.
The well-equipped kitchen features all the inventory you need during your stay. You will also find the oil fired boiler inside the kitchen. The adjoining sitting room provides dining space for four, perfect for leisurely breakfasts or intimate evening meals.
Upstairs, the Scottish character of the cottage shines through, with a charming stained glass window adding a touch of heritage. The two en-suite bedrooms – one king-size and one twin – are beautifully presented with soft heritage tones, crisp linens, and tweedy throws, inviting lazy lie-ins and peaceful mornings with a good book. Note that the twin beds can be changed into a king-size bed. Please let us know if you would like the bed to be made into a king.
Families and groups will love the separate games room, complete with table tennis and table football – sure to keep both children and adults entertained on rainy afternoons or relaxed evenings in.
For guests holidaying together, The Mill House can be booked alongside The Wheel House (sleeps 4) and Woodman’s (sleeps 2). All three properties sit next to each other, offering the perfect combination of privacy and shared space.
