Relaxing and Atmospheric
A delight to visit. Classic forest cabin feel, made perfect by the mountain decor. All furnishings functional as described. No surprises. Good room for parking. Cabin is situated at the end of a mountain cove, giving it surprising privacy, while at the same time the benefit of neighbors not far away. A gated community. Everything we needed was supplied, and the host only a phone call away. Would stay again!

Wonderful vacation in a perfect cabin
This cabin was exactly what we wanted, expected, and needed. Communication with the owner was completely timely and satisfactory. Kitchen supplies were everything needed to cook meals. Water pressure & hot water amounts were great. Furniture was comfortable. Beds & bedding were perfectly comfortable. The driveway is slightly steep but was completely manageable with backing in to park our F250 pickup. The grill was absolutely completely clean and the outdoor seating on the front and back porches were perfect to enjoy the cool weather. Wood for the fireplace was provided and that was very much appreciated. A week was just not long enough in this comfortable cabin in such a nice quiet neighborhood. We did not see a bear but a turkey did cruise through. The sound of the birds early in the morning was wonderful to hear. We will definitely return to this cabin.

Peaceful but Hairy
We enjoyed our stay here. The property manager was very responsive to messages. The fireplace was amazing. We did note that throughout the house the cleanliness was lacking as there was dust and pet hair everywhere. We were aware of it being a pet-friendly location, however, with the fee for pets staying there, we did expect a deep cleaning to be done after each pet visit. We also enjoyed the access to a washer and dryer. We do wish there would have been a TV downstairs so we did not have to take snacks for the games upstairs. We were unable to cast to the TV as it was an older model and there were issues with the Roku allowing access for casting due to needing an access pin. Overall, we enjoyed a relaxing long weekend for the holiday.

About the host

We arrived in the Smokies over eight years ago. Our first trip was a fly fishing adventure. Until then, my only Smokies adventure had been to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
Townsend proved to be an oasis in the mountains. The setting is serene and peaceful and without the trappings of the more recognized areas. Trout were not the only things hooked that weekend... we were as well. Just one year later, we arrived in Townsend to live full time. It took a year to make it happen, but we were determined to make the Smokies our home.
We surely can not imagine living anywhere else. Waking every morning to the sunrise over the mountains, and the sights and sounds of the birds and other wild life living in the area, is an unbelievable experience.

It has been our objective to educate others about the wonders of living here in this beautiful place and we have done our best to create an environment that will hopefully give our guests a place to call home when they come to visit.
The number of returning guests has grown greatly in the past years.
