Town: Chudleigh is an ancient wool town resting in the Teignbridge District area of Devon, with plenty of history and scenic sights to explore at any time of year. The town has a history dating back to the Saxon times, with many place names from this time still being seen today, as well as historical wonders such as caves at Rock, as well as an Iron Age hillfort overlooking the town. Chudleigh also hosts a good range of amenities, including two pubs, an English restaurant, convenience stores, quaint shops, and much more to assist with a self-catered stay. The Teign Valley is a dramatically steep wooded valley to the Eastern flank of Dartmoor National Park between the villages of Dunsford in the North and Chudleigh to the South. The villages of Christow, Lower and Higher Ashton, Dunsford, and Hennock are peaceful locations for holidays with beautiful scenery all around with hills, fields, rivers, and stunning thatched cottages. The entire area in and around Chudleigh is a walker's paradise with magnificent views to be admired. If you’re feeling a little more energetic then you could try your hand at rock climbing, go kayaking on the nearby River Teign, mountain biking, or trekking around the location and beyond. Nearby, must-visit attractions include Canonteign Falls, England’s highest man-made waterfall which boasts a stunning 70-metre drop, lush woodlands, and scenic walking trails, Kent Cavern a prehistoric cave, once the home of ancient humans that is adorned with 400-million-year-old rocks, impressive stalagmites and stalactites and Bygones, a captivating Museum offering insight into Victorian life. Thrill seekers may even want to visit Go Ape Haldon Forest Adventures in Haldon Forest and take on their tree-top challenge and adventure. You can also spend a day in the traditional seaside town of Dawlish, perfect for relaxing beach days with a variety of family-friendly attractions and amusements, while The Lawn and Brook is where you can find the famed majestic black swans.
