Town: Set just northwest of the city of Hull, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, is the village of Walkington, a small and pretty spot offering a community environment. This area makes for a wonderful base from which to visit and see many popular areas of Yorkshire, such as York and Hull, as well as the seaside town of Bridlington and Yorkshire's east coast. The village itself is home to a convenience store, a Post Office, three pubs and a village hall and a church, so all you need for a lovey self-catered stay is at hand, while the neighbouring market town of Beverley offers a wider array of shopping and eateries, as well as Beverley Racecourse, a cinema, and some parks. Visit Bridlington Spa for a day out at the seaside, taking a stroll along The Spa Promenade before stopping in one of the several harbour cafés for some fish and chips, or if you've got sunny weather then head straight to the beach and soak up the sun while you can. As well as the Humber estuary and the Flamborough Headland Coast to explore, Walkington provides a great base to discover the best of East Yorkshire.
