Stay at Budgenor Lodge

Ideal location for visiting Midhurst, Chichester and the South Downs. The outside space was a real let-down; unkempt and full of weeds with unloved garden furniture. It was a shame, as it would have provided a secure little spot to enjoy a glass of wine after a day's touring, or for having breakfast on sunny days. The interior itself could do with some tlc to address the peeling paint and it really needs a good, deep clean; the blinds, windows and mirrors were filthy. Please address these issues, and the house will be alovely, welcoming place to stay..

Thank you so much for your review. We wanted to make you aware we have changed cleaners for this property and got a regular gardener to ensure this does not happen again.

This is a lovely house, good size rooms and in a great location. Unfortunately whoever manages the property doesn’t seem to put much effort in. One of the reasons we chose this property was the back garden area looked really nice. It looked nothing like the photo. Weeds were growing through the gravel, the two pieces of patio furniture were dirty. The outside of the door and windows were dirty. Inside the house blinds were missing or were broken. The shower backs up with water. It’s a shame because it’s a nice space ideal for a couple of people. We would not rent it again at the price charged and someone would need to put more effort into looking after it.

My stay in Budgenor lodge

On arrival I found the key safe situated very low on the wall & difficult to operate. A kind passer by assisted ne. Inside it was warm, cozy & exceptionally clean. Large fluffy towels were provided and the beds extremely comfortable with plenty of hot water. However,, I found the freezer desperately needed defrosting. The dishwasher was filthy. The oven so dirty it set the fire alarms off. The washing machine door would not open & was subsequently found to be broken. The only usable item was a small standard Microwave So we lived on Microwave meals or toast for our 2 week stay.. The office did offer to send someone to clean the items but as I believed it needed a good day to thoroughly clean them, I declined. We didn't go out apart from shopping but we're warm and comfy staying snug indoors watching the birds flitting between tje branchs & watching snooker on TV
