About the host
Hosted by Leonora Nieuwenhuizen
I am an entrepreneur.
I live on my ship on the Prinseneiland or in my forest–beach home in Bergen, 45 minutes north of Amsterdam.
I love sharing my houses and seeing the SMILE on my guests’ faces when they walk in for the first time.
I am creative and passionate about designing things that make the world more beautiful.
I had a kids’ clothing brand called MIM-PI (which means “dream” in Balinese) for 20 years.
Now I travel the world, creating special home items to sell in my online shop: www.lunalola.eu.
I LOVE challenges and learning new things.
Some people say I am bossy… I am!
I lived in Bali for 3 years.
I dream of owning a riad in Marrakech to create a boutique hotel.
I always carry my Gucci glasses.
I drink lots of tea.
Bali, India, Byron Bay, Ibiza and Marrakech are my favourite places in the world.
I talk too much; I don’t get jokes.
I love travelling the world.
I would love to live in Tahiti for one year and wear flowers in my hair.
And roller skate to the moon.
I love to give free hugs.
Welcome to my house and enjoy your stay.

Why they chose this property
Why I chose to live in the Jordaan
I chose the Jordaan because it feels like the true heart of Amsterdam.
This is not a tourist district that was created later — this is where real Amsterdam life has always been. Small streets, historic houses, hidden courtyards and neighbours who still greet each other.
I love that everything here happens on a human scale. You walk everywhere. You stop for coffee, chat with the baker, sit on a bench by the canal and suddenly realise you’re no longer rushing — you’re living.
The Jordaan has soul. It’s creative, a little rebellious, full of stories, and always welcoming. That’s exactly how I want my guests to feel.
