About this property
Corner House | Elie & Earlsferry
Standing proudly on the corner of Elie High Street, Corner House is a handsome 18th-century home (built around 1765) with bags of character and a fantastic position. Just opposite School Wynd, which leads straight down to the beach, and only a minute’s walk from the golf course, it’s perfectly placed for sandy toes, coastal walks and golf days. Outside the main summer season, flexible three-night stays are available, making it a great choice for short coastal escapes as well as longer holidays. Wi-Fi is included, and one small dog is welcome by arrangement (terms and supplement apply).
During 2024, a fabulous elevated deck was added at first-floor level – a real highlight of the house. Accessed via a spiral staircase from the kitchen, this outdoor lounge is furnished with quality seating, exterior lighting and a log burner, creating a special spot to enjoy a drink in the spring and summer, or wrap up and relax outside on crisp autumn and winter evenings. Inside, Corner House feels elegant, bright and welcoming, with many original features retained. The modern kitchen/dining room on the ground floor has beech block worktops, double Belfast sinks, a range cooker with 5-burner gas hob and electric oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and window shutters, plus a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. A handy WC sits halfway up the stairs.
On the first floor, twin windows in the beautifully furnished sitting room frame views straight down Elie High Street. Here you’ll find a traditional fireplace with log burner, Smart TV, comfortable sofas, an accent chair and soft lighting – a lovely space to unwind after a day at the beach or on the fairways. The master bedroom overlooks Bank Street and comes with a super king-size bed, large walk-in wardrobe, dressing table and an en-suite shower room. A twin bedroom to the rear has two single beds, decorative fireplace and good storage, while the family bedroom overlooking Park Place offers a double bed and single day bed with mirrored wardrobes – ideal for families or three couples sharing.
The family bathroom feels indulgent, with a claw-foot bath and telephone-style handset, separate shower enclosure, WC and wash hand basin. With its rich history as the former home of Provost Don – a colourful figure in Elie’s story – Corner House offers more than just a place to stay; it’s a slice of village heritage in a prime location. From here you’re perfectly placed to enjoy Elie’s beach, links golf, local pubs and cafés, with St Andrews and the wider East Neuk coastline an easy drive away.
