Families and friends can rest, recharge and relax together in this fabulously presented Victorian holiday home on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The dog-friendly, six-person property is positioned right on the edge of Clyro, a South Wales village just 1.5 miles outside the eclectic town, Hay-on-Wye. Spend time touring the quirky town streets here, visit the many bookshops and nip into plenty of independent shops before enjoying food in a local pub. For those seeking further excitement, the Black Mountains region and its endless opportunities for adventure lie just a few miles away.
This detached house stands alone with a pretty courtyard furnished just outside. Step inside to be greeted by an appealing ground-floor space with a farmhouse kitchen, a light-filled lounge and a versatile utility room with laundry facilities and space to stow away boots and outdoor gear. The lounge has been laid out with plenty of comfy seating, a Smart TV and a wood burner effect fire, adding a warm and cosy appeal for nights when the weather doesn’t suit being outdoors. Spend time curled up in here before moving on to the first floor where four bedrooms, three doubles and a bunk bedroom, are accompanied by a family bathroom.
Close to home take an enjoyable, scenic walking route around the Clyro Brook Waterfalls (0.5 miles) before dropping into the village pub for a refreshing drink. Further walking routes can be found along the River Wye (1.5 miles), in the Powys hill range of The Begwyns (5 miles) and into the Brecon Beacons via Glasbury (4 miles) or Three Cocks (5 miles). Heading into the National Park visit Talgarth (8 miles), a pretty village on the edge of the Black Mountains with the atmospheric woodlands of Pwll-y-Wrach on its outskirts (9 miles).
