About this property
1 Bed in Stainsacre (oc-m30333)
Cute as a button and cosy as can be, this charming stone cottage sets the scene for a romantic escape on the North York Moors. Located on a farmhouse between Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay, this dog-friendly holiday home is ideally placed for exploring the Yorkshire coast and countryside. Sleeping two guests, it’s perfect for couples and solo travellers who long to get away from it all.
This former stone barn has been lovingly renovated into a cosy and comfortable farm cottage that’s bursting with charm and character. Set beneath a wooden beamed ceiling, the lounge/diner invites relaxing evenings in with a squashy sofa, a wall-mounted TV and a table for two set by the window. Next door, the corner kitchen features subway tiled walls and modern appliances so you can rustle up meals in style. When night falls, head upstairs to snuggle under the covers of the elegant double bedroom set beneath the eaves. A contemporary bathroom with characterful sloped ceilings completes the interior, while outside there’s a bench for morning and evening drinks in nature and a private parking spot.
Gothic tales blend with a bustling fishing harbour in the seaside resort of Whitby, where you can explore Whitby Abbey and St Mary’s Church, inspiration for Dracula. Amble around atmospheric cobbled streets, dine on fresh fish, and hop on the heritage steam train to pass through wild moorland en route to the market town of Pickering. The coast also offers quirky fishing villages like Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay (14 and 4 miles respectively), while inland bridleways traverse open moorland, passing through woodland and alongside waterfalls in the North York Moors.
