There are attractions for children, too, including two steam trains from Tenterden and Hythe, the Rare Breeds Centre, Port Lympne zoo, and a water park at Lydd.
Kent is becoming one of the main wine-growing areas of England, and for those who enjoy wine tastings there are three vineyards, Chapel Down, Warehorne Vineyard and Gusborne nearby.
Guests have sole use of the garden on the south side of the house, but please note that it is not secure for dogs as there is an opening at either end.
