About this property

The Collector’s House is a beautifully restored 3-bedroom home located on Arundel’s picturesque High Street, offering a unique blend of historic charm and modern comfort.

The Collector's House is one of the oldest properties in Arundel, in part dating back to the 16th Century and has a rich and varied history. As befitting a town that once had more drinking houses than any other in England it has been a public house and in more sober times has been a part of Arundel's thriving Antiques trade while now is a book shop. There are rumours it also had a priest hole during The Reformation and a passage direct to the Castle!

The market town of Arundel is home to some of the countries highest regarded antique shops and boasts a castle, cathedral, countless restaurants, an impressive nine pubs and a local brewery. It is also only 15 minutes from the sandy South Coast, Goodwood estate and Chichester. At 45 minutes by rail from Gatwick and just under 1.5 hours from London it is well placed for a holiday stay.

Situated above a quaint bookshop, the property’s front entrance opens directly onto a staircase that leads up to the main living and kitchen area, creating a wonderfully intimate and characterful arrival. The kitchen has been fully modernised with sleek, contemporary fittings, while the rest of the home remains sympathetic to its historic origins, preserving the warmth and authenticity of the period features throughout.

The living space is bright and welcoming, ideal for relaxing and socialising after a day exploring Arundel’s shops, cafes, and riverside walks. A second flight of stairs leads up to the bedroom level, where three well-proportioned bedrooms and thoughtfully designed bathrooms await. The property also features a charming nook on the second floor, providing a cosy TV area that is perfect for winding down in the evenings or enjoying a quiet moment away from the main living space.

With its prime High Street location, The Collector’s House is perfectly positioned for guests to immerse themselves in the town’s historic atmosphere and vibrant local culture.
