The cottage sits within easy walking distance of the village store and a friendly pub serving ales and good food. A 10-minute drive brings you to Castle Howard, famed for its grand architecture, lakeside grounds, and year-round events. The rolling landscapes of the Howardian Hills AONB are almost on the doorstep, offering exceptional walking and cycling routes—bring binoculars to spot local wildlife.
For days out, York is a treasure trove of history with its iconic Minster, Roman walls, museums, and vibrant shopping streets. Enjoy a day at the races, or to Pickering to ride the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, continuing on to Whitby for classic fish and chip supper. Guests can also ask the owners for a a private tour of the 600-year-old castle ruins, adding a memorable touch to your stay.
