About this property

Quiet Shirley setting with free parking and an easy walk to the hospital

Settle into a stylish, fully furnished three-bedroom terrace tucked into a quiet residential pocket of Shirley, one of Southampton`s friendliest suburbs. The home is thoughtfully arranged for longer stays, with a sociable open lounge and dining-kitchen downstairs and three quiet, carpeted bedrooms upstairs. Bold teal and navy geometric feature walls, mustard accents, and warm wood-effect floors give the space genuine personality, while fast Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen, and folded linen on every bed make daily life easy. It suits NHS teams visiting Southampton General Hospital, contractors working in the city or out at Fawley, and families wanting a calm base close to everyday essentials.

What guests notice first is how the home is set up for restful sleep and focused days. Bedrooms are quiet and softly lit, the lounge invites you to switch off in front of Netflix at the end of a shift, and the kitchen is properly equipped for home-cooked meals rather than relying on takeaways. Shirley High Street, Southampton General Hospital, Millbrook station, the city centre, and West Quay shopping are all within easy reach on foot, by bus, or by a short drive, which is why the property works equally well for medical professionals, working teams, and small families exploring the south coast.

A Home to Relax and Unwind

The downstairs feels sociable and unwound at the same time. You step into a bright lounge anchored by a deep teal geometric feature wall, with a green velvet sofa, blue armchairs, and mustard cushions arranged around a glass coffee table. A wide bay window dressed with mustard curtains pulls in plenty of daylight during the day, and in the evening the wall-mounted smart TV with Netflix turns the room into a comfortable place to switch off. Through the open doorway, the dining area sits beneath a gold pendant light with a six-seat table, flowing into a grey shaker kitchen with wood worktops where shared meals come together easily. Upstairs, carpeted bedrooms with painted geometric walls, fresh white linen, bedside lamps, and folded towels encourage proper rest after a long day on shift, on site, or out exploring.

The Layout

Step in through the private entrance into a hallway with wood-effect flooring that runs through the open downstairs spaces, with a carpeted staircase rising to the upper floor.

The lounge is the first room you enter, anchored by the deep teal geometric feature wall and the wide bay window. A green velvet sofa, two blue armchairs, mustard cushions, a glass coffee table, a floor lamp, and a wall mirror create a sociable seating area facing the wall-mounted smart TV with Netflix.

Through an open doorway, the dining and kitchen area opens up. The dining table seats six on padded brown chairs beneath a gold pendant light and decorative metal wall art, with the kitchen running along one side. The grey shaker kitchen with wood worktops is fully equipped, including:

• Gas hob with extractor hood
• Oven
• Microwave
• Fridge-freezer
• Washing machine tucked under the counter
• Hot water kettle and toaster
• Plates, bowls, mugs, wine glasses, and tumblers
• Cooking basics, knife block, chopping board, and a wok
• Dishes, silverware, and dining table seating for six

Upstairs, the carpeted landing leads to three bedrooms and the family bathroom.

• Bedroom 1: a double bed with bedside tables and lamps, a teal geometric feature wall, a clothes rail with hangers, a dressing table area, and yellow curtains. Suits a couple or a single guest who wants more room. The travel cot is set up here on request.
• Bedroom 2: two single beds with bedside tables and lamps, a green geometric feature wall, a clothes rail, a dressing table with mirror and stool, and yellow curtains. Ideal for two colleagues or two children who prefer their own bed.
• Bedroom 3: two single beds with bedside tables and lamps, a navy geometric feature wall, a clothes rail, a dressing table, and blue curtains. Works well for a second pair of colleagues, twin children, or two friends.

The family bathroom serves the whole house and has a shower over the bath, a glass screen, pedestal basin, toilet, towel radiator, tiled walls, and a frosted window for natural light. Shower gel is provided. A travel cot is available on request for guests staying with an infant.

Two twin rooms and one double bedroom is what makes the layout particularly useful for NHS teams and contractors, because nobody has to share a bed unless they choose to. For families, the same configuration means parents and children all get their own space.

Location

The home sits on Percy Road, a quiet residential street in Shirley lined with terraced houses and leafy edges. Shirley itself is one of Southampton`s friendliest suburbs, with a strong local high street feel and everyday essentials close at hand.

Shirley High Street is around ten minutes` walk away, where you`ll find Aldi and Sainsbury`s for the weekly shop, plus independent cafés, bakeries, and traditional pubs including The Bellemoor and The Brook live music venue. Southampton General Hospital is roughly fifteen minutes on foot, which is what makes the property such a sensible base for medical staff and visiting families.

The city centre, West Quay shopping, and Southampton Common are a short drive or bus ride away, opening up the wider city without putting you in the middle of its noise. Millbrook station is around fifteen minutes on foot, with direct trains into Southampton Central in under five minutes and onward services to Bournemouth, Winchester, and London Waterloo. Local buses run from Romsey Road into the city centre and across to Southampton General Hospital in roughly ten minutes. Taxis and rideshares are easy to pick up across Shirley, and the area is flat enough to cycle into the city centre in around fifteen minutes.

Free unrestricted on-street parking is available directly outside the house and along Percy Road, with no permit needed. Spaces tend to fill up later in the evening as residents return home, so arriving earlier in the day usually makes finding a space easier.
