The Retreat combines traditional architectural features with refined interiors and high-quality finishes throughout, thoughtfully designed for larger groups. Generous living spaces, multiple bedrooms, and inviting communal areas make it ideal for gathering after a day on the moor. Large windows frame sweeping views toward Dartmoor's tors, while original features preserve the character of the home. Outside, a hot tub with panoramic views across the rolling hills, a dedicated yoga room, and a sauna create a wellness-focused escape, with outdoor fireplaces on both balconies for evenings under big Dartmoor skies.



THE SPACE

Inside, guests will find spacious reception rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and 5 comfortable bedrooms. Interiors balance rustic charm with contemporary style — natural materials, warm tones, elegant furnishings. Outside, the hot tub and grounds offer a peaceful spot for morning coffee before heading out to explore the National Park, or for unwinding after a day of moorland walking.

GUEST ACCESS

Guests have full private access to the main property and grounds, with a private entrance and on-site parking for 10 cars. The home is exclusively yours for your stay.

To ensure a relaxing experience for all guests and respect for the property, we kindly ask that visitors treat the home with care. No smoking is permitted inside the property. This is a pet friendly property however we ask that pets be kept off of the furnishings. Quiet hours should be observed in the evenings to maintain the peaceful surroundings.

The Retreat sits in peaceful countryside directly on the fringe of Dartmoor National Park, giving you some of the easiest access to wild moorland, granite tors, ancient woodland, and scenic walking trails anywhere in South Devon. This is a genuine Dartmoor base — not just "close to" the park, but positioned to make the moor part of your everyday stay.

The nearby town of Ivybridge, known locally as the "Gateway to Dartmoor," adds a relaxed mix of independent shops, cafés, and pubs, plus riverside walks along the River Erme — a handy stop for supplies before heading up onto the moor.



Beyond the National Park, the wider South Hams countryside and coastline are within easy reach, including sandy beaches and villages like Noss Mayo, Wembury, and Bigbury-on-Sea — giving guests the rare combination of moorland wilderness and Devon coast from one base.



GETTING AROUND

A car is recommended to make the most of Dartmoor's trailheads and viewpoints, many of which aren't served by public transport. On-site parking is provided, and Exeter and major transport links remain accessible for longer journeys.
