About this property

3 Bed in Keswick (oc-lr188)

Escape with your loved ones to this detached hilltop home just outside Keswick's pretty town centre. Sleeping six people across three bedrooms, it's ideal for families or groups of friends in search of a tranquil retreat to call home while they explore the Lake District together. History buffs will love visiting the stone circle at Castlerigg (1.5 miles). Dating back to 3000 BC, it's one of Britain's earliest stone circles and boasts fabulous views over the fells. Alternatively, head to the banks of Derwentwater (1.5 miles) and set off on the 10-mile circular hike around the lake – you'll be rewarded with wonderful views across Catbells and the Borrowdale Valley. The vistas are sure to inspire you to hike up Catbells (5.5 miles), which is a great trail for both seasoned hikers and casual explorers. From the top, you'll enjoy stunning views over Derwentwater.

Step inside and you'll discover a bright and cheerful lounge with a grand bay window that fills the room with natural light. Take a seat by the wood burner and soak up the lovely views over Latrigg Fell before you head to the country-chic kitchen to whip up some of your favourite dishes. Eat in the elegant dining room, where you can watch the weather roll over Blencathra and Latrigg through the three large windows. At the end of the day, retreat to one of the three beautiful first-floor bedrooms: a master king-size room with an en-suite shower room, plus a double bedroom and a cosy twin. A well-appointed family bathroom serves the bedrooms and completes the interior.

With pretty gardens to the front and back of the cottage, unwinding outdoors and soaking in the scenery are made easy. Spill out into the rear garden when the weather allows; dine alfresco while taking in panoramic views of Blencathra as your backdrop. To make arrivals and day trips easy, private driveway parking for four cars is available.
