Once you enter you'll never want to leave but if you can drag yourself away then there a day trips aplenty on the doorstep. Robin Hood's Bay or Whitby with its historic Abbey and blue flag beach are about an hours drive away. Alternatively a day out in York provides something for everyone with fabulous shopping, the stunning cathedral, Railway Museum or Jorvik Viking Centre just a few of the great places to visit. Within walking distance from the property, through the private wood, is a path leading to Yorkshire Air Museum & Allied Forces Memorial. Also just a short distance away is the York Maze, the largest maze in the UK.
An imposing entrance hall welcomes you to into the house, venture to the left and you'll find the formal drawing room with plenty of fun board games, pool table, small football table and Bagatelle board to enjoy. Kick off your shoes and sink into the comfortable Chesterfield sofas in front of the impressive open fire, listen to some music on the radio and record player. To the right, you will find the hub of the house, a fabulous open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area. The kitchen area is well-equipped with two electric ovens and a 5 burner induction hob, steamer oven, built in microwave, two dishwashers, larder drink fridge with ice compartment, coffee machine, blender, island and breakfast bar and spoils you with underfloor heating. There is a cosy seating area in front of the woodburner under the large skylight, where you can enjoy afternoon tea and plan your adventures or simply enjoy watching a film on the Smart TV and DVD with surround sound. Leading through the archway takes you to the formal dining area where you can enjoy a lovely meal, where there is also a door to the garden. A large utility room can be found off the kitchen with an American style fridge/freezer with water and ice dispenser, washing machine and tumble dryer. Heading back to the entrance hall you will find a separate WC and staircase leading up to the first floor. The first floor consists of two king-size bedrooms, the blue room having a white metal bed, dual aspect windows looking out over the garden, this has access to the bathroom which can used as an en-suite. The gold King-size bedroom is under the low'ish beam, a further twin bed room, the green room with Smart TV and completing the bedrooms is the blue zip & link superking (which can be split into a twin on request), also with Smart TV). There are two bathrooms on this floor, one bathroom with shower over the freestanding bath and WC (which can be locked off and used as an ensuite bathroom to the adjacent king-size bedroom) and a large shower room with rainfall shower with WC.
Heading outside there is an extensive fully enclosed garden complete with outdoor WIFI, summer house with patio area and garden furniture for al fresco dining and two charcoal BBQs for those warm summer evenings. The garden also has a fire pit with seating, ideal for toasting marshmallows and enjoying those clear night skies. There is also outdoor table tennis and lots of other garden games available for you to use. There is ample off-road parking for up to 6 cars on the driveway. Access to 3.5 private wood, The Old Plantation, which features WW2 remnants and offers a short cut to the Yorkshire Air Museum.
