About this property

2 Bed in Wigton (oc-sz212)

Situated in the attractive and vibrant village of Caldbeck, this property is close to shops, cafes and a pub. There is a wide variety of walking routes in the area; whether you prefer a gentle meander through the fields, or hiking a fell, there is something to whet your appetite. High Pike (6 miles) and Carrock Fell (5 miles) are both within easy reach and great hiking spots. Whinlatter Forest Park is 19 miles away, which has purpose-built cycling trails, as well as scenic walking routes. Hop in the car and visit Keswick and Derwentwater (16.5 miles) for further amenities, tourist spots or to try your hand at boating or fishing on the lake.

Tucked away in a quiet spot behind a Grade II listed building, this cottage is a lovely little getaway. A useful porch area has plenty of room for bags and boots, before you head through into the living room. This space features a wood burner housed within a traditional fireplace, high ceilings, and large windows, allowing plenty of light to flood in. Fire up the wood burner and take a seat on the comfortable sofa in front of the TV which has a DVD player. The kitchen/diner is well-designed with an oven, hob, fridge/freezer and dishwasher for you to use. Cook up a storm and enjoy a sociable meal around the dining table. The king-size bedroom is situated on the ground floor, which has a beautiful en-suite with bath and shower attachment. Further down the hallway is a utility room with washing machine, Belfast sink and a door leading out to the side of the house. Next door to this is a wet room with shower and WC, ideal for less able guests. Upstairs is the twin bedroom, and a separate family bathroom with a second bath and shower attachment. Take in the views across to the fields, fells and woodland from the upstairs windows.

Outside the front door, is a lovely courtyard garden. It is fully enclosed and has pretty plants and climbers filling the area. There is garden furniture situated on a cobbled patio space for you to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening as the sun sets. Guests can also enjoy access to the gardens of the owner’s property which includes a vegetable garden, a river and a swing set for children. You’ll be just 200 metres from the nearest pub. Off road parking for two cars is available.
