Welcome to the ultimate homebase for mountain adventure and relaxation! 'The Firehouse' is a distinctive second story flat on South Main Street and is a perfect Buena Vista base camp, particularly for larger groups and families. Imagine, 2 minutes after stepping out your door you could be walking by the river, riding a cruiser bike around downtown BV, rock climbing, whitewater kayaking or enjoying an IPA at Eddyline Restaurant and Brewery. That's hard to beat, and that's why we call South Main home!

You're centrally located for skiing, 50 minutes from Monarch, an hour or so from Ski Cooper and 1.5 hours or less from resorts like Copper Mountain, Vail and Breckrenridge. Plus there's great cross-country skiing in the mountains just west of town or up in Leadville!

This comfortable flat can sleep up to eight guests. The master bedroom sleeps two on a queen bed, One of the guest bedrooms sleeps four on two sets of bunk beds, while the other sleeps two in a queen bed. An open kitchen/living/dining area is perfect for group meals and socializing.

Didn't get the opportunity to truly enjoy the condo, it's location and Buena Vista. However, for our quick stop over in BV condo was perfect! The beds were comfortable, the condo was clean! Some Details Missing

This place is really great however if you are traveling with small children it is not for you. Some details were not shown/disclosed like the third bedroom with bunks has a skylight that has no way to cover and no door!!! Also, there isn't any A/C which everyone says you don't need in the mountains but I disagree. They had lots of fans but on the second floor, it was very hard to cool off. That being said if you do not have small children this is a great place. Close proximity to trails, shops, downtown, etc.

As the property manager it is my responsibility to provide the best possible experience for travelers. We take all concerns seriously. In response to the above comments: 1. In the "amenities" section of the listing it does NOT state there is air conditioning (per architectural guidelines of the community.)Traveler knew this in advance. 2. The bunkroom has a skylight because it is an interior room with no windows. It provides the natural light that would otherwise be missing. 3. There is no door on the bunkroom due to the oversized doorway. A door would be too intrusive either into the hallway or bedroom. We are in the process of installing a sound barrier curtain to address this issue. Thank you

Firehouse review

Great location, very clean! We visited in early June and it was extremely hot outside so never had a cool down at night or a mountain breeze so with no AC it was very warm and uncomfortable to sleep! But a great place overall!

Some friends and I wanted to a weekend getaway to a location with Hot Springs and chose Buena Vista as our destination. In looking at potential options, we chose this one due to the location. Although I had a couple of friends who had never stayed at a VBRO location, all were impressed. We loved being downtown and within walking distance of so much and the place we chose was clean and well furnished. It turned into the perfect weekend getaway!

Convenient Location and Great Alternative for Family of Six

The property was conveniently located in Buena Vista near the Arkansas River and accommodated our family of 6 well. On-street parking was relatively easy to find near the home. "Opportunites" include better WiFi connection and A/C. It was clear that that the property didn't have A/C and the breeze and temps accommodated during our stay, but it was warm even with fans provided. Definitely consider as hotels aren't plentiful in BV.

Modern Flat in Trendy Neighborhood

We stayed in the Firehouse Flat in the South Main neighborhood for three days. Centrally located, lots of parks, trails, and restaurants all within sight of the property, with the main drag of main street just around the corner. The property was clean and modern with all the comforts of home. Communication with owner was immediate and the welcome instructions were short and sweet and had all the information you we needed. Would definitely stay here again!

The Firehouse Flat was perfect for our family. We had our family of 5 plus 1, and our sister/brother in law and their 2 year old. Perfect location, and close to everything. Loved this place!!! The quaint little town of Buena Vista is PERFECT for a get-away and THIS downtown flat was the PERFECT place to stay while taking in ALL the amazing scenery in the area. Carol has not left anything out in her VRBO and her attention to detail (and decorating style) made me feel like I was in my home, away from home! NOTE - there is NO air conditioning but the climate is conducive to a simple fan at night with the windows open. I would DEFINITELY use this downtown flat when we plan another trip to Colorado!!
