Have you ever gotten to your vacation rental and said to yourself, man I wish we had rented THAT place over there! Well the YellowTail Villa is THAT place! It's the location, the incredible amenities, the amazing island decor and decorations and of course the amazing VIEWS! We've got it all!

Best host ever, gave great recommendations of things to do and places to eat. Matt was very quick to answer questions, fix issues etc. Great location - Nicely located between the Keys and Miami. House met our needs, perfect size and location. Would definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay in the Keys

This place had everything needed for a great family vacation on the water in the keys! Rooftop deck was great! The hot tub and outdoor bar area added to the experience. The fishing gear provided was also a great benefit. The only negative was that it was almost impossible to park a boat at the dock due to the strong current, constant waves, and the tight approach to the dock.

Amazing stay at Yellowtail!

The pictures on the listing don’t do it justice. It was a beautiful place. Well decorated best location ever. Kids spent hours on the dock fishing caught so many fish. We saw barracuda. Nurse shark, parrot fish, eels and lobsters from the dock. Loved having my coffee on the roof every morning watching the sunrise and the s’mores were good at night. There was such a nice sea breeze up there. Matt was a good communicator and always texted right back elevator was nice to have to bring luggage up. Hot tub was great to relax in. House was well equipped with everything we needed plenty of towels and utensils and fans and blankets. Don’t hesitate to rent this place highly highly recommend! I hope we get to go back soon.

Family Vacation

Such a wonderful place to stay!!! Communication with the owner was fabulous. He made sure we had everything we needed. The weather was perfect. The kids caught all kinds of fish off the dock from the local fish, eels, stingrays, nurse shark, grouper, and barracuda. Crabs, tarpon, and tropical fish such as parrot fish could also be seen daily! They even snorkeled with the manatees which we saw almost everyday! We definitely will be back!!!!! Hot tub and pool was a daily thing. Can’t say enough about this place and location!

We had a great stay at Yellowtail Villa. Family of 5 Adults, very close to pool and the Gulf. Staying in Marathon was great as it’s centrally located. Only an hour from Key West, & Islamorada. Went on sunset Tiki boat and also spent the afternoon at a sandbar. Great times🎉. We would love to come back The Rauhut’s

Yellowtail Villa

We had an amazing time at Yellowtail Villa. Everything was as described and exceeded our expectations. The helpful labeling and "friendly" reminders throughout were well thought out. Extra bumpers and fenders (provided) added to the ones we brought, and helped keep our boat off of the seawall and safe. It has been over 20 years since we last stayed at Marathon/Vaca Cut. Matt the host was the best and had great suggestions for dinner and things to do. Thank you for everything, Lynn Godwin 8/24

Great family vacay

We had the best week at Yellow Tail. The villa is spacious, more so than I expected. The balconies were so nice to hang out in the evenings, especially the rooftop. Great place to watch fireworks. My kids caught all kinds of different fish from the dock. Pool area was nice. Met several different nice families. We rented a boat and hopper from key to key. Excellent vacation and Matt kept in touch with us to make sure our stay was going well. Definitely will be going back.

Mini Lobster

We had an awesome time. The couch bed is not really a bed. Trying to dock anything bigger than a 28 foot boat is not recommended with the tide changes. Entry is way to small. This could have been a disaster for someone that did not have years of experience. Marathon KAREN lives next door and she's waiting for someone to bump her dock post (with camera)

Amazing week.. beautiful home

From beginning to end, definitely the easiest process in which to rent a vacation home. The communication was great and many helpful tidbits of information was given. The home was very welcoming from the surprise of all the makings for s’mores to be used on the rooftop deck fire pit to the fancy designs made of the bath linens left to welcome us. We fished from the dock and the kids caught snapper, lobster were seen swimming amongst the rocks, eels gave them a challenge by snapping their hooks, and the neighbors caught a small bonnet head shark from the dock. Definitely an amazing adventure for all this week. The location of the villa is perfect to restaurants, the marina, and grocery store. You may even get a surprise from the iguana that came to visit us each morning in the palm tree from the second balcony. He will eat potatoes and eggs if you toss them within each on a limb. I definitely recommend the Yellowtail Villa 10/10!!

Cannot beat the Yellowtail!!

Yesterday was our last day at the Yellowtail. It is a great place and conveniently located in Marathon. Last year after staying in hotels in Key West and Key Largo, we decided to do a beach house this year. We were very pleased with the amenities and the welcome s'mores ingredients. Matt, the owner, was great to deal with and very nice. We enjoyed the well-decorated Yellowtail and especially being able to sunbathe on the roof. Marathon was a great location for us. We fished on the Jeni-Lyn for tarpon. Caught three over 100 pounds. I recommend the boat. Several trips to Robbie's in Islamorada and then south to Key West. Robbies is a must do if you have kids. They will love to feed the tarpon. The restaurant is very good, too. The wind and waves prevented us from snorkeling at Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo. Key West is a short drive. We found several great restaurants in Marathon. Without reservation, I can highly recommend the Yellowtail and Matt. I hope to return next year.

Family vacation

We are a family of 5, with three teen girls. We had an amazing week sunning ourselves by the dock and on the spacious roof deck. The house was quiet and comfortable with ample space for gatherings on the kitchen level and bedrooms on different levels to keep the kids from fighting over bathrooms etc. the carport space with hot tub was a hit and put to use most days, as were the supplies from the fisherman’s closet, which allowed for casting from the dock. The selection of poles was extensive enough to allow an adult and an 11 year old to have appropriately sized rods. The gas grill was in beautiful condition with a full complement of grill utensils. Similarly the kitchen was very well appointed with clear labels for where to find and store supplies. Steve’s crab claws were a highlight. There were essentially no negative issues other than a broken sliding door handle and missing umbrella, which were replaced early in the week in a remarkably professional and timely manner. Would highly recommend and will likely try to return next year!

The Yellowtail Villa was a great find. It provides everything you need, and was spacious and very comfortable. The location was great and the views from the top deck were beautiful. We spent enjoyable evenings at the Tiki Bar and in the jacuzzi on the ground floor. Matt was a fantastic host, responding quickly, and providing names of restaurants and places to go. We highly recommend this villa.

This is a beautiful, quiet property, with every amenity you could want. The location is perfect, easy access to everything. The beds were amazingly comfortable and having the washer and dryer right there made keeping up with the laundry easy. Matt was great at providing information about the area and was super responsive to any of our questions!

Fantastic stay at Yellowtail Villa!

My family of six really enjoyed our stay here and it was the perfect size for us. We had fun catching fish from the dock at the property and cooling off in the pool. The villa was spotlessly clean and well stocked. We hope to return soon!

The Yellowtail Villa was perfect for our needs, especially as it offered docking for our boat. The Villa itself, an excellent location in Marathon, offering great views, is very tidy, clean, and well-equipped. Matt is a great host. Trip of a lifetime

My family of 7 all came down for a nice getaway from Colorado. I love the ocean and wanted to share that with them. Staying at yellowtail was the perfect location for our family to relax and stay during our trip. Plenty of sleeping options. Fully stocked with anything you might need. The host Matt was phenomenal. Was able to answer any questions I had, recommended a whole list of things to do or see. Set us up with a great trip for a fishing charter. So great we went twice. Off shore fishing and reef fishing. I was able to squeeze in a snorkel trip to the reef and another favorite was a day trip to the dry tortugas. Mats place had all of the information prior to the trip and even at the house for a full itinerary of things to do. My top reasons for picking this place was location on the water, boat dock, pool, family friendly, and the ability to have a boat if we rented one. Definitely worth it and plan to go back!!

Amazing

We had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend at Yellowtail Villa. The villa is decorated perfect for the Florida Keys. It had all the comforters of home.The view from the rooftop was amazing. It was perfect for relaxing on the roof or fishing right out your front door. It had everything we were looking for. Matt the host was awesome. We hope to be able to go back soon!

I highly recommend this property!! It’s a beautiful home in a fantastic gated community. Matt was a great host. He made check-in super easy and was available for any questions. He gave suggestions of places to eat/visit that were super helpful. We tried out all but 2 on his list and we enjoyed them all. We enjoyed some leisurely evenings hanging out in the pool and the hot tub, playing cards in the Tiki area and we enjoyed the sunsets from the rooftop while eating s’mores made on the rooftop fire pit. We made some wonderful memories as a family and can’t thank Matt enough for being a great host!

Living in the Northeast United States our family has visited the Keys for years....we loved it so much we finally decided to reach for our dream and buy our very own dream house on the water. We bought this property because we always wanted to be on the water and the ocean views at this property are just sublime! When we first walked up to the rooftop deck and saw the Gulf of Mexico, our kids said..."this is he place!" No other home we looked at could compare. The clear blue ocean water is why we come to the Keys and has always had a special allure for us. We are happy to share our special slice of Keys heaven with you.....you too will fall in love with the YellowTail Villa just as we did the day we first walked through it.

What makes this property unique

The high powered rooftop binoculars on the 35ft high party deck let you see miles out into the Gulf of Mexico......combined with a fire pit at night and night time star gazing, you will be in heaven at the YellowTail Villa. The Corona Relaxation Tiki Bar in the carport is our favorite hangout. While there is SO much to do in Marathon, we find just lounging around the YellowTail Villa from her rooftop deck to the tiki bar and all floors in between are the most enjoyable for us.
