About this property
Family style home overlooking the Madison River
4 Leggs River Ranch is a lovely 6 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom with mountain views close to the Madison River. It sits above the Madison River, Ruby Creek and Wall Creek Game Preserve, providing private access to the Madison River. To the East is the stunning Madison Mountain Range, known for the wildlife-rich Lee Metcalf Wilderness area.
The home is quite elegant with a well-equipped kitchen, a tiled island and a large gas range. The cozy living room includes a built-in fireplace. There are two dining areas, one in the kitchen area (seats 4), and a larger, slightly more secluded area that seats 10. Of the 6 ample bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, three bedrooms are located on the main floor and three are tucked away downstairs for added privacy.
The property is located in prime fly fishing territory, only 10 minutes from McAtee fishing access and 15 minutes from Ruby Creek fishing access.. There is plenty of parking and room for your drift boat at the property. Beartooth Fly Fishing Shop is only minutes away, ready to accommodate your every fishing need. Yellowstone National Park is a scenic 51 miles Southeast. The quaint western town of Ennis is an easy 19 mile drive to the North. Other fishing in the area include the Jefferson, Big Hole and Beaverhead Rivers. Wade, Cliff, Quake, Hebgen, Henry’s and Ennis Lakes are all an easy hour or less away.
The Bozeman airport is 75 miles away, an easy and scenic 1.5 hour drive.
Other fun and interesting destinations in the area include the historical Virginia and Nevada City, with daily performances by the Virginia City Players and nightly entertainment by the Virginia City Follies. Both are loved by tourists and locals alike and good for a hearty laugh or two. When you need to relax, try Norris Hot Springs serving locally grown organic food, wine and beer plus live music many nights of the week. Nearby cities Bozeman, Butte and Helena all have much to offer. Bozeman is known for its fine dinosaur exhibit at Museum of the Rockies, Butte for the colorful and rich mineral display at the Mineral Museum, and Helena for its gorgeous historic buildings and stunning capitol. Helena is also home to the artistic Archie Bray Center which draws aspiring and known artists year round to its residency clay and pottery program.
