Wow, Thank you for a great week!! Property was very clean, well cared for and had everything we needed for a restful, peaceful vacation. Owners were very helpful with all the local tips! Great location for kayaking right off the beach and perfectly located to all the State Parks and attractions. Best vacation for our family!
The perfect place to relax and enjoy time with family.
This was much needed. George the owner is amazing. Even took us out fishing. Fires on the beach and fishing off the kayaks are memories we won't forget. I highly recommend!
I took my wife and in-laws here for the holiday weekend and out stay was amazing (with the dog as well). Our host and his partner were nothing short of helpful and accommodating. The place has a beautiful sandy beach for all of us to enjoy and offered us peace and quiet away from the busier towns in Door County. The house is dated but the pictures and listing are 100% accurate. We weren’t there for the home but the ambiance and location, which were amazing. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit.
We had a nice stay at the quaint and quiet lake cottage. We brought our dog along and had a lot of fun playing on the beach and in the water. When the weather was nice, we kayaked and walked along the shore and enjoyed spending the day outside. The cottage is close to Door County so we headed up the peninsula to check-out hiking spots, breweries and restaurants.
Its a small but comfy house. Clean and well kept. It had what we needed. Kitchen is stocked with all the utensils you need but bring all spices, sugars and condiments. The best part is you walk out the back door and 20 feet away is the beach. Easy to get to, no stones, all sand. We didn't swim that wasn't on our list to do but we did enjoy campfires and sunsets right on the beach. We saw eagles and pelicans and we enjoyed the quiet and privacy of the beach. Our hosts George and Dawn were the best. Very welcoming and quick to respond to any questions. We met a lot of people on his trip, made some new friends and George and Dawn are new friends for sure.
Really nice place to stay. Very peacefull and relaxing. Goerge and his wife were wonderful hosts and really enjoyed getting to know them. Landscape was very sandy as its right on the beach so expect to.have to shake out shoos. Water shoes and flip flops are best. Inside was very nice and even though it was in the low eighties, had a beautiful breeze and was cool in the cabin. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We had a brief stay with four sisters coming from four different states. One trip up the peninsula and the rest of the time chilling at the cabin. Very peaceful and quiet location. Sofa would be fine for a young person but all of us over sixty shouldn’t plan sleeping on sofas any more.😉 The outdoor space was wonderful with everything we could have wanted.
Beautiful property, very nice beach, very relaxing. Cottage was right on the beach and was clean, nice and comfortable. George and Dawn were so nice and welcoming. They had beach supplies with in reach if needed. (kayaks, tubes, floating rafts, life vests, sand toys. ect…) We really enjoyed being able to have fires on the beach at night. We recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice relaxing vacation. We will be going back in the later future.
Exceptional. Peaceful. Serene. Clean. Everything you need is there. Do bring bath and beach towels though.
George was both friendly and welcoming. He took the time to show us a map of nearby attractions based on our interests by labeling a map. He let us know they were only a call or text away if we needed anything.
Our stay at this darling quaint cottage, was very comfortable and incredibly memorable. We cannot wait to be back!
Our host was outstanding. Very easy to get along with and whiling to share information about the area. Think of this as your Aunt & Uncles cabin of the 70's & 80's. No modern amenities such as dishwasher, internet, or cable TV. If want to get away from your daily stresses, then this may just be the place. Great view of the bay, nice beach out your back door, and you are about 15 minutes from Sturgeon Bay. Nice little grocer 5 minutes away with a great meat counter. We cooked most of our meals on the newer electric stove and on the provided Weber grill. We would stay here again.
If your looking for a 5 star hotel, this ain’t it! This is a rustic North woods house typical of the area. If you stay in a VRBO home and that’s all you do, I feel sorry for you. The pictures accurately show what you are staying in. The positive is you have the best hosts I have experienced ( George and Dawn) who will answer your texts within 5 minutes. The location is everything. A private sand beach to swim ( my dog loved it) until you watched the sun paint a wonderful picture on the horizon. The ability to have a campfire on the beach and make s’mores will make memories for you to remember for years to come. The proximity between Green Bay and Door county is perfectly offset by the quiet night’s listening to the waves wash up on the shore as you fall alseep on the porch with the windows open. I WILL BE BACK!

Disappointing
Family of 4
Upon arriving we discovered it smelled really bad like mildew and wet dog. Like if we had stayed all of our stuff would have smelled of it too.
The decor was just as pictures show, which we didn’t have a problem with. It was the smell and the bugs that changed our opinion really quick. Spiders and some sort of flying bugs that looked like wasps but weren’t. We also saw ants in the main bedroom. The double bedroom is in an addition that has no outlets. All the furniture outside was covered in spider webs like it hadn’t been used. I wiped it all down for the couple of hours we stayed. The outside surrounding area could use some tlc. Just brushing all the webs off the house would have been nice.
Positives: location on water.

Great location, but the cottage is worn down.
The location and property is amazing. The sand beach is steps away and the owner has kayaks, floaties, sand toys etc. Sunsets are beautiful and it's a quiet area. George, the owner, lives next door and is very welcoming and informative. We had a great time at each of the locations and venues he recommended.
The cottage itself is cozy and large enough for a family of four. It does however need some updating and looks to be in original condition. It's a 2 bedroom one bath with the 2nd bedroom being a converted porch and we had no issues sleeping.
The kitchen is dated and sparse, but technically has all that you need in a kitchen. The utensils and kitchen items showed their age and the drawers and cabinets were a bit dirty inside. The years of wear shows as the stove is old and stained and the linoleum floor is stained and needs replacing.
The bathroom by far, is the greatest disappointment. The shower stall is very dirty, black mold shows on the poorly done caulking, rust stains are everywhere, the shower caddy is rusted, the toilet runs and without a house water filter and water softener the tap/well water smells and tastes of iron. Toilet has rust stains due to the iron and constant running. Definitely bring a lot of bottled water for drinking, cooking and maybe as a final rinse of your hair if you don't like the rust smell.
I would not hesitate to rent this place for a few weeks a year because of it's wonderful location having the beach at the back, close to wineries and Sturgeon Bay and friendly owner, but only if the above issues are addressed.
-For what it's worth, thank you.

the water for my cottage is frtom a 650 foot well. it's been tested twice and its safe to drink, it does not tasted
like city water.
the shower has no molds and the caulk is discolored.
we response to the problems quickly if we are notified.
the bathroom remodeled with toilets and new counter, faucets and flooring.
My wife and I were in need of a vacation and this property proved ideal for peace as and quiet. George is a great host. We highly reccomend if you're planning a visit to Door County. Do bring a camera - the sunsets are spectacular!
We enjoyed our stay in this cabin right on the beach. The house is cute and old fashioned. We were able to bring our dog, kayak and swim during the day, watch the sunset, and have a fire on the beach at night. There were maps and other recommendations on what to do in the area provided by our host, who is next door.
Don't let the photos fool you. The cottage is much nicer in person and was exactly what we were looking for. If you need to rest and recharge, this is the place. Great location, great host, great experience.

Disappointed
The property is old, rustic, and well-used. We had issues with bugs in the house and allergies in the house. The kitchen appliances had to be plugged into a single extension cord from a floor outlet, as the counter outlets didn't work. Some of the dishes were dirty. The kitchen was well provisioned with dishes etc and there were games provided. The host provided info on Door County sites and lives next door if there are questions..
Listing is just as described. Cottage was plenty spacious for husband and myself and two adult children. Location on the water was lovely, especially enjoyed skipping rocks, kayaking, and campfires on the beach right outside. Close enough to Door County spots to make day trips easy but far enough out of the way that we saw hardly a soul when at the cottage. We couldn’t get over how calm the waters were on the bay side. Hosts were easy to communicate with and responsive to texts. Would recommend upgrading life jackets for kayaks as well as replacing the cottage exterior doors and upgrading electrical outlets. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation!
Beautiful setting, comfortable beds, kind hosts. An excellent stay!

It was nice
Location away from main DC towns but still very nice to get away. Owner lives next door and very helpful on recommending places to eat or go. However, interior of house needs updating and placed could have been a bit cleaner.
We enjoyed a long holiday weekend here. The setting is absolutely gorgeous. A highlight was fires on the beach at night, with firewood provided by the hosts. The hosts were amazingly kind and live next door, so easy to chat with. Plenty pf good restaurants, hiking and biking nearby. And pie…
This is an old cottage, so the furniture is a bit old and the shower could use an update. But the price was right and the location was beautiful.
